I currently do work remotely from home in the US. Not long ago I was seriously considering being a digital nomad, though. Seeing this makes me feel like maybe it might not be such a good fit for me 😔
I’ve been doing okay at getting to know the locals in here Dallas, Texas since I moved here a few years ago, but interacting with people has never been my strong suit. I am improving though. It wasn’t too long ago that I would have said knowing your neighbors is unimportant. Nowadays it seems necessary for survival. Never too late I suppose ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@mint @dirtmayor if you don’t want to know or understand locals why you even bother to be digital nomad. You can work remotely from home in USA or UK.

Just not everyone has that kind of human skill - and that is fine.
