It sucks that Gen Z is gonna have to keep shouting this from the rooftops, especially since it’s the same drum that Millenials have been banging for years now, but this has to keep being vocalized as a major issue. The stagnation of wages and the corresponding rise in CEO compensation in America is, frankly, disgusting. The Fed has been patting themselves on the back for maintaining a status quo that was broken before the pandemic.

For the love of this country, please call your local representatives and make it clear how important legislation addressing the wage gap is, and keep calling them through election season. I know everyone has their eyes on the presidential election this year, but the race for the House is significantly more important for actually getting policy done. Maybe it just causes politicians to lie and promise relief that will never come, but at least then they’re recognizing it as an issue. The current lie just pretends that everyone struggling doesn’t exist.

Can’t afford a used car, can’t afford to send my kids to school (day care was near 25k a year for our twins) , health care costs are horrendous (life expectancy continues to be one of the worse in the developed world even though we spend the most by far), food costs are through the roof. Can someone please tell me how this economy is better? WTF are these people talking about.

Janet Yellen and Jerome Powell should be forced to continue to do their current jobs with all compensation removed and replaced by federal minimum wage, with no health insurance.

EDIT: Also their assets should be seized, and their stock market holdings liquidated.

Millions, actually billions have always been left behind in this system. The economy has always been built on the poor in the developing world.
