Don’t dox yourself. Try to limit your information to a Maidenhead locator or general area of at least a few kilometers in an urban area and a few dozen in rural areas.
I’m from South Hesse, in Germany. Some of the most regarded German comedians (yes, they exist) are from around here and we have a pretty diverse culture, both traditionally German and from immigrants.
So, where do you live and how is it?
Southwest Washington State. Originally from Northwest Oregon.
It is amazing here. We have very moderate weather, lots of trees year round. An hour from the beach. An hour from the mountains. Surrounded by forests.
The people here are pretty diverse and friendly for the most part. Always festivals or events going on year round. We have a great beer and food culture.
The complaints I have are few and far between, but overall it is a fantastic area.
North Georgia here. Wife and I have been up to visit friends near Seattle a few times with another trip planned this year. We. Love. It. Being so close to so many proper mountains is just such a breathtaking thing that we don’t really have where we are. Don’t get me wrong, the Appalachians are nice, but we were just in awe seeing Mount Rainier above the clouds during our first flight in to the area.
Scranton Pennsylvania, home of The Office (AMA)
Yeah I have a question. Number one: how dare you?
I’d never heard of the Maidenhead Locator System so I thought perhaps that was a typo. I went to uni close to there (which is South England) but lately I live in SE Asia (it’s too hot!)
Westside of Michigan. The summers and autumn are stuningly beautiful here. And it’s surprisingly affordable to live here, though, like pretty much everywhere, that’s is charging rapidly>
Originally from Cheshire, England. Then lived in Sydney, Australia and currently I’m in Singapore
Southern California. It’s very hot here and there’s a lot of dirt, but at least we have In-N-Out.
Being in the high desert, we have like four weather patterns, but we do rarely get snow so it’s cool to see when it happens. It also gets very windy, especially during early summer.
To get anywhere interesting you would have to drive, and to go on vacation you would have to drive much further. Even then, a lot of people still drive big trucks that burn gas like nobody’s business. But hey, that’s rural America for you.
Any towns you recommend in South CA? For example, Temecula. My wife and I follow FI/RE and we want to move to that area from the NE once we quit our jobs. We’d be in our late 30s.
In terms of places to live? I wouldn’t be the best one to ask about that, I don’t have my own place yet. That being said, I like where I live, in
[
, though admittedly I’m pretty biased in saying that. You might be able to find an area that’s nice and affordable. ]
Left Coast, baybeee!
left coast of what?
Of the country I live in! I think it is punk term thing I never looked into. East Coast West Coast, Right Coast Left Coast. I am on the edge man.
I’m from one of the many cities in Metro Manila, Philippines. Right now, it’s very, very rainy.
Glasgow, Scotland. 👍
A small town in Germany Baden-Württemberg, its nothing special.
I live in the countryside of western New York, somewhat close to Buffalo. Its beautiful land, but not a lot to do unless you’re really into outdoor activities (which are fun, just in moderation for me).
Originally from Long Island, New York and the city area, now in Metro Detroit - USA. Similar vibes, but more quiet way of life. Cool to learn about the midwest and different area of the US. I’ve lived in the UK before and miss that. I hope to make it to the West Coast to see what it’s like living there :D
Greater Boston area here, and I love it! Lots of friends from school happen to live here, and the job market has been decent for me as a software engineer.
South Africa!
Columbus, Ohio, USA. It’s decent here politics are not totally to my liking but the weather is nice enough, decent entertainment scene, OK Jobs, pretty central to a lot of the United States. Moved from a much smaller town of around 800 in southern Ohio so big change but I love it.
