That’s a lot of mass effect for your buck
I’m a sucker for bundles like these. They’re awesome when you own the games on other or older platforms, or prefer to have them digitally.
I’m also jealous of people who’ve never owned these games and other bundles like it. They get to experience something for the first time. And no waiting between games like we had to.
The other day I saw a bundle on PlayStation that had both Skyrim and Fallout 4 in it. Both of those I put 500+ hours into. Can you imagine being the guy who’s never played them? That bundle is going to consume their life for the rest of the year if they let it.

That would be me! Your comment made me buy the bundle. I never played any of the Mass Effect games. Truth be told, I have no idea what they are even about 😄
I’ll just say: that ‘legendary’ in the title is well-earned. These are some of the best RPG’s ever made in my opinion, certainly when you consider the era they were made in.
They have great characters and writing that sucks you in. You’ll really grow to love some of the characters, especially when you’re spending that amount of time with them. It might be a slower experience than some people prefer, but I really like taking the time to enjoy a good story.
Mass Effect is one of those sci-fi series with only one fictional technology, and a whole lot of development on that, and on the stories that enables them to tell. And that fictional technology is the mass effect. In Mass Effect there’s a fictional element called element 0, or eezo, that humans found out in space. Eezo can alter the mass of other objects when electrically stimulated. Eezo can give a spaceship negative mass and enable faster than light travel. It can reduce the mass of a bullet to almost zero as it’s fired from the chamber of a gun, and return it to normal going at an extreme speed. It enables artificial gravity. Humans who are exposed to eezo can gain telekinetic powers. There’s a community of aliens out there, and they also use eezo in their technology. There’s a ton of politics, philosophical commentary, and secrets out in the galactic community and its history.
Seeing this post about the sale made me check out the Wikipedia article about the game, since I never knew anything about it either. After reading that I’m pretty much sold on it. For a few dollars it’s worth a try.
I think waiting between Mass Effect 1 and 2 should be mandatory. It’s extremely jarring to finish the first one, and then immediately start playing 2.
But yeah, you cannot pass up this deal. There’s some decent mods for it too.
I’ve seen this one at this level of discount more than once before, and every time I’ve refused because it requires not only for you to have an EA account, it requires to have the Origin client always running in the background. For no good reason.
Last time I tried to play Mass Effect (through Game Pass) it told me I need to install the EA App. However I couldn’t install the app because “you have to uninstall Origin” first.
So I uninstalled Origin and all games I had installed through Origin. Still I couldn’t install the app till I restarted the PC. Then I had to login to EA via browser to verify my account. Then I could login in the new app and then I could play the game. After my game pass ran out, I looked at the Steam page of Mass Effect to buy it, but Steam said that Origin (not the EA app) is required. At that point I was done with EA games. Maybe it was an outdated info. I don’t care. I surely would’ve got the game running eventually, but I just don’t care enough.
And don’t get me started about the Ubisoft launcher, which doesn’t seem to understand that I don’t want to run games as an admin user.

Maybe you claimed it as booty and then forgot. Or maybe I claimed it as booty and then forgot.

The Origin client only needs to be running in the background while you’re playing the game. This is how EA, Ubisoft, Rockstar, and a few others handle DRM - I’ll take it over shit like Denuvo any day.
My problem with it is that EA is toying with adding ads in their games, so I don’t wanna wake up to a sudden update promoting sexy Milfs in my area on Citadel billboards.
Also, Andromeda is also discounted at 85% for about the same ~6€/$.
I’m Commander Shepard and Tantaly has the realest silicon-based fuckholes on the Citadel.
Andromeda is trash though.
One person’s trash, another person’s treasure. Bargain hunters don’t care.
This is perfect since I was wanting to play them again and only ever had them way back in the day on Xbox (which I don’t have anymore).
