I know that a lot of people on Reddit always seemed to make a big deal about the karma points. I, however, did not care about how many karma points I had, or what anyone else had. I hope that this is something that does not get implemented in Lemmy. Also, I would even prefer if they didn’t have the downvote button. I think this is something that got abused way too much by users on Reddit, and I think that it probably discouraged some users from even commenting or posting. I have no problem with the upvote button, or even just having a “like button (heart icon)”, such as on Twitter.
