    Possibly unpopular opinion: chroot is the least overengineered container implementation and it even comes with most operating systems, including the BSDs. On second place, Solaris Zones.

      Thanks! I had forgotten about those. I’ve never used them, but I remember hearing about them and thought they sounded amazing.
