Used to be desensitized to violence. But after getting out of some personal life situations. I somehow got “resensitized” never thought it was possible to be resensitized and feel nauseated by violence and gore again until i was. Even hospitals make me queasy now. Kinda dont mind it. The only real downside is sometimes there are some really interesting and good shows that are very difficult to get through, like westworld is a good example. That was very tough to watch. And ive seen quite a lot of real people die. It doesnt seem to matter if its real or not. I just feel nauseated now by it for some reason.

Its very interesting personally. Always wondered if theres anyone else out there who has resensitized themselves (whether by accident or intention)

I feel like i appreciate things a lot more since being resensitized to violence and things. Im more content with life than when i was desensitized to it. Not sure if its related or connected though.

Also. Love your username op. Windows is indeed malware, and also spyware.

I have a friend that used to be super into watching morbid stuff like gore and snuff videos. He stopped a few years ago and last time I asked him he told me that he can’t handle them anymore, same goes for another person I know.

In my case I’ve never been able to watch too much of those things, but I know I’m able to handle situations where blood and stuff is involved as I’ve studied anatomy with dead human bodies and also worked with injured people. I like to think I’ve had a bit of a healthier relationship with the effects of violence on humans.

My mother would use burn victims she helped as a lesson to avoid being burned alive. It scares me to this day. I was like 10. Its weird seeing kids who have no idea how horribly disfigured they could be purely because they dont know or understand. I started seeing gore at a very early age. Still trying to figure a lot of it out. But my best guess is that i was traumatized (already knew that but whats yet another trauma when you already have hundreds) by seeing said burn victims and my “fascination” with gore back then was more an attempt at understanding said trauma and fears of said disfigurement or something maybe similar?

Ive been also been around a lot of gang violence which i wont be talking about here today because i dont have to if i dont want to and can choose to do so if i want at a later date when/if i am feeling up to it.

also side note. Something that comes to mind is clockwork orange. Perhaps even some of them just go so far. In a similar way they come out the other end. Grossed out by themselves maybe. Who knows. Interesting to think about though.
