Yeah maybe - I imagine the tech debt is hard to manage when you fire 80% of your staff.

I’m on the latest version of the app and latest iOS version so I suspect I’m not alone

So many ways:

• frequent outages
• spaces drop out frequently
• blue membership gives credibility to fraudsters
• I haven’t been able to reply on mobile for the last 2 weeks
• blue features just stopped working a few weeks ago and nothings happened (dark mode, custom icons)
• analytics are inaccurate and have large gaps
• it’s awash with bots
• algo works against ux

I like the idea they think they can make an everything app when as a text app it’s so utterly broken

I’m not sure actually. I just tried to screen record and it wouldn’t let me. Then I tried to take a screenshot and it triggered a no screenshots pop-up

Welcome to life after 40 - I’ve been an early adopter all my life, but my network hasn’t moved with me.

As a result joining Snapchat has no value for me.

So I tend to use apps that are friend-agnostic like this and TIkTok.

Side note: my fave messaging app is Confide, it only reveals redacted words as you run your finger over them, and then deletes. So it’s impossible to screenshot.

Even better, it’s easy to replicate, so with enough of a mutiny it loses all it’s value

I tried mastodon very briefly about 6mths ago, and it seemed pretty quiet ala diaspora - has it filled up a bit now?
