Then we put it in gasoline knowing damn well that the poisionous lead would spew out the exhaust, it took us decades to reverse that decison as well and it only really happened when engine knocking had been resolved.

Ive used mine before because the rad was too big to fit internally.
A big problem IMO is the generational responsibility of the waste as well. There needs to be decades of planning, monitoring and maintaince to ensure waste sites are safe and secure, this can be done but modern political climates can make it difficult.
They should be getting far more than 4.5 years for doing borderline slavery and illegally detaining/kidnapping.
The victims involved in crashes aren’t always rich. People in other cars or pedestrians and cyclists can be injured by these mistakes.
I wonder how much energy google wastes on its AI service in the regular search just to give me a worse answer than the top results I was actually looking for.
I never claimed they did anything wrong. I propose a set of rules that could help prevent anoter incident.
You inform an employee and they escort your gun with you in the store. It is also important to note I am in Canada and we have different gun laws.
There are screentime apps that can track and limit the useage of certain apps. You can use your bike rental app as long as you want but can set a specific time limit for others like 1 hour on youtube, 30 minutes for lemmy etc.
I used one before and it helped me quantify the time I was wasting and gave me tools to limit my usage.
Every sporting store in my area specifically states to not bring firearms/guns into the store. I have seen many models of pellet/bb gun that look like real firearms until you handle them.
I’m not defending the actions of the security guard but rules like these could help prevent a similar situation in the future.
People need an incentive to justify bringing them back to the store instead of tossing them out their window when they stop working.
Idk. Cops can spend all day in their cruisers and blow through tons of fuel/power during a high speed chase. The EV would also have to power all the electronics on the cruiser including lights, sirens, radios, their laptop thing. Battery capacity might not be able to power the cruiser long enough. Especially if the crusier works a day and a night shift with different officers. Last thing a cop wants is back up cannot arrive because they are charging a battery.
A complete ban would be ideal
E-cigarettes are so awful for the planet (and probably their users). They shouldn’t be sold until some better waste management system for them is developed. Something similar to a beer can deposit may work.
Each vape has a $2-3 deposit. All stores that sell vapes must accept old vapes and refund the deposit. This concentrate the waste to go to landfills or a recycling process and should help reduce litter from discarded vapes.
The litter from the discarded vapes can be hazardous to the environment because they contain plastics, batteries, heavy metals, and addictive chemicals like nicotine. These same materials make the vapes difficult/expensive to recycle.
There is also the extra radio, sirens, lights, and some have built in radar and plate scanning cameras. I’m pretty sure there are extra batteries and a stronger alternator to keep systems powered and ensure engine starts if auxiliary power is drained.
Different crusiers also have different set ups. Some are normal patrol cars while others have K-9 accomadations, shield and extra defensive gear, pursuit intervention tools like spikes and stop sticks. Cops use such a wide variety of tools that one crusier can’t fit every tool for every situation.
Wouldn’t the EPA shut them down anyway at the deadline? Thats what the EPA would do right? They would follow through with their regulations right?
Reduction of consumption is our only answer. Your car didn’t magically become eco friendly because ford said they would plant a couple tress after you bought it.
The same problem could be fixed with electrified transit and walkability. Transit would also be even more environmentally friendly.
Plus we could still develop self driving cars but do a lot more testing before we set the public as the guinea pigs to see if they are safe.
Id also argue that we cannot claim this is the worst self driving will get since self driving cars are only used in a few areas right now.
There are greener, more energy effecient and more socially fair ways to get the same results than selling everybody a high tech steel box.
At least its not idling in the school parking lot anymore where children are closer to the exhausts and less aware of the risks.
