It keeps the streets clean both literally AND metaphorically!
The best part is now all the foundations are here too so when the next big ‘event’ happens Lemmy will be in an even better position to absorb all those users.
You may have me confused with someone else. I didn’t say anything about defederation or banning instances.
What in your opinion is behavior or views that is worthy of defederation? There appears to be many different standards for that from what I’ve seen.
If you’d like examples I know some of their bad takes are starting to be posted to [email protected]
Yet he who aims with his hands has forgotten the face of his father.
I think we can all agree: You kill with the heart.
I think you’ve confused this post with an airport.
Would it be possible to have the error page when you are being attacked/there is an outage point to some other lemmy instances to go to?
I think that could be a big help if there is an issue when a new user tries to check out .world for the first time. They will at least have a link to click on to check out what lemmy is like on another instance and maybe sign up there too.
Everything you buy is shipped in some capacity
It will start to stabilize eventually, but we’re probably not going to see that anytime soon!
This is why having a big popular instance isn’t all bad. It helps detect and fix the scaling problems and inefficiencies for all the other 1000s of instances out there!
This will be possible to actually implement on Lemmy, whereas reddit was closed source, and didn’t really care about their communities.
Just curious how you think you might go about this. Do you plan on contributing yourself, forking, or using the community to influence the direction/prioritization of new features?
Agreed. I’ve certainly had a few issues where it appeared I clicked a button, but nothing happens. Or some buttons where you have to click exactly on the text for it to work. That said these are pretty minor inconveniences.
Yet Lemmy instances seem to be doing great with the massive influx of users!
Some would say that acting is the grandest lie.
