The Shire. I’d just live in my Hobbit hole, eat second breakfasts, and take long walks. Peaceful!

Knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross stitch, etc. The work is meditative, and you get in a groove waiting to see what the next row or stitches will look like. Producing an object feels productive, and gives a feeling of accomplishment.
Choose bright colors and fun patterns, and it’s a lot of fun. There are patterns for all interests, so don’t think this is the realm of only little old ladies. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Amen. And he got screwed from the Reddit api fiasco. If i remember correctly he was on the hook for as much as $250k in refunds because he’s had to shut the app down and refund subscribers.
The guy has to make a living, so I don’t begrudge him that one bit.
What’s the issue with WhatsApp? I thought it was great for privacy.
Thanks! I’m really enjoying the app. Thank you for all the work you’re doing.
I like it. I especially like the solitary house in the distance.
This whole debacle will end up being a MBA case study in a few years on how not to work with your user community.
Agree. There have been some hiccups, but nothing that has made it unusable. I appreciate everyone working to keep the site/s up, resize servers, mods, app developers. Also, thanks to the long-time Lemmy users for putting up with the onslaught of newbies overwhelming their space. Everyone has been friendly, and I hope we Reddit refugees can be good neighbors.
I’m seeing the same thing.
Thanks for mentioned that. I thought I was mis-clicking, but I think I’m experiencing the same thing you are.
When I right click to open a community in a new tab, the “joined” button is enabled at the top right even though I haven’t joined it. I can still click a post and join the community, but it’s a bit confusing that it seems to carry over from the prior community, which I am a member of. Is anyone experiencing anything similar?
Mlem is pretty good so far. It’s basic, and there are issues, but the developer seems to be making frequent updates, and it’s functional. I’ve been providing a little feedback as well, and looking forward to seeing it develop.
Wow, they are only a few days old, aren’t they. That’s amazing.
Thank you!
I’m anxious to see what happens in the next few days and weeks. I think Reddit will bring the big subreddits back online with new mods if they have to. The smaller subreddits, though, may not be worth the effort to Reddit, and those are the ones I’ll miss the most. I’m hoping some make their way here, but I suspect many won’t.
I’m glad to be here, and I’m looking forward to see what this brings.
You should consider making one here. :)
Was going to suggest the same, so thank you! And thanks for working on the app - it has to be crazy stressful.
Thanks. I can’t believe I missed that.
Some of the subreddits could be great, but some could also be really mean and unwelcoming. So far it seems much more friendly here, and I hope that’s not just the honeymoon period.
