My last job didn’t test, the one prior didn’t, and my current one doesn’t. Job stability is as stable as being able to get hired, and I pay for health insurance like everyone else. My Jordan’s are like yours, so neither of us wear leather.

The same world that produced the USDA Expenditures on Children by Families Consumer Expenditure Survey results, in which that amount is similar to other numbers. The US government may or may not have artificially inflated these numbers for intrinsic benefits. Depending on how you slice the numbers or what variables in that child’s life are at play, a child can easily cost more than $2700 a month, but millions of families also raise multiple children simultaneously on less money than that. In the same world where rent prices on 1-2 bedroom places can start upwards from $1500/month, what values do make sense? The answer to that depends on whether we’re talking about Musk or actual people.
Not all jobs drug test in the USA, if you get onboarded for a job that does eventually test, refuse, and if they have an issue with it, decide if it’s worth your time to fight them over it or walk away and start the slow job hunt grind again. You don’t have to work for a company that tests, that is ultimately a choice you make. A common issue however with finding jobs that don’t drug test is that you’re going to be footing your bills for all standard healthcare plan costs and such. No biggie if you value your urine privacy!

The great part of federation is that users who want to use Threads still can, and instances who don’t want to federate with Meta don’t have to. People who want to double-dip can sign up for their favorite instance(s) of choice, as well as with Threads. Neither one has to have any app shut down and everyone still gets to make a choice as an end-user rather than be decided upon by an unmovable authority. Win win!

The toxic behaviour found in a lot of subreddits. Its an inevitable thing that it brews in communities or instances, but it’d be nice if Lemmy held itself above repeating the patterns of the lowest common denominedditor.
Happy four of month
I generally stick to Subscribed sorted by Top Hour, Top 6 Hours, Top 12 Hours, then do the same for All. I don’t get much out of sorting by Hot since I’m usually more interested to read fresh posts with less active engagement.
Driving slow, leaving early and arriving early. I usually drive a bit below the speed limit, and always follow speed limit signs. It keeps people safe, even if their own impatience makes them tailgate eachother 10 cars in a row behind me. Some people like to be in a hurry when they drive and don’t know how to relax and drive calmly, I’ve never been sure why.
Developers have been kicking into overdrive to smooth things out. Web UIs are improving in stability under load, and apps like Wefwef are performing great. Each day people participate, donate, bug report, and audit code, is another day that Lemmy improves its rigidity.
100%. I used to occasionally do software development over SSH with a phone with sliding keyboard when I was out and about without a laptop, the keys were just big enough not to be uncomfortable. It was great to type into a smartphone like a desktop computer, and some programs could use the keyboard for functionality. Mobile experience has become more bland and cluttered with virtual keyboards/buttons/‘joysticks’ taking up screen real-estate. At the very least, it’s nice that with an adapter many USB keyboards can work with an Android device.
Mission Critical? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5793ZG7Y9ho Legend Entertainment made a handful of games like that. Might be a different title of theirs?
I understand the confusion now, good for you! Be grateful you’re not here! I think the concept is insane too and I don’t accept it for what it is, but that doesn’t change what adults have to do. Unless you’re the do-what-you-want gov-dodging tax-evasion-suggesting riot-in-the-street kind of player. Just because someone is not happy with the systems in place does not mean they cannot take actions within it in a calm manner.
