Imo the two worst things that the DNC has done was shutting out Bernie in place of Hillary, and then running fucking biden against dumpy. If they had put Bernie in 2016 then Trump would have lost hard. If they had offered up fresh blood with new ideas instead of an octogenarian clinging to the billionaire establishment with moderate conservative policy then they likely would have won this time.
Biden came in pretending to be not trump, but his stance on immigration, tariffs and many other topics are so disgusting it’s hard to see him (or his replacement) as anything other than a vote for the status quo… and the status quo right now is miserable.

Already axed prime last year due to them adding ads, I don’t even miss the expedited delivery because all the big box stores deliver for free, some even same day, at equivalent prices.
Disney recently boned me out of account sharing, so my plex server is getting pimped out. $1000 buy gets you substantial NAS storage for 6-7 years. That’s ~$14/mo if you replace nothing for 6 years. By the time drives start dying the sizes double and you can expand your raid as they die off one by one.
Anywho, Plex servers (and other FOSS alternatives now) usually have no problems transcoding and serving multiple 1080p and 4k streams concurrently. Plus you can download media for offline play within the respective server’s app on all kinds of devices, and for plex the server owner doesn’t need to license guests. That being said, non-plex options are what i’d go with because they are as good or better without any license cost. I just use plex because I bought a lifetime sub before the alternatives were mature. It’s nice having a library that only grows, never shrinks. No temporary licenses or content runs so I can have a massive backlog and not worry if I don’t get around to it for years. Just a lot of wins, no downsides that I know of.

Anecdotally, content wise does seem better than a few months ago. Unfortunately lots of it seems to be highly polarizing and hateful stuff when you look at all communities. Othering seems to be as strong as ever, if not stronger. Probably because hate groups can just setup their own instances or take over parts of existing ones without much blowback like they would get on other sites.

I don’t know about lowering military budget or education or healthcare budgets at all. The key seems to be the control what those funds are spent on, to funnel them to industries and beneficiaries who support the people who get voted into office.

I do not believe politicians are dumb, on the contrary I think they have no sense of morality. The leadership of the party are vicious sociopathic megalomaniacs. They are experts at propaganda and manipulation via the media, where they work hand in hand with billionaire media owners.
Short and near term financial gains can buy you a ticket to salvation after the planet is ruined in 50-250 years. If they need to buy luxury proprety and loads of slaves servants to retain their standing and quality of life, they are going to do that. If they are afraid of foreign powers taking control they have no issues starting proxy wars via russia or israel so the american people can spend hundreds of billions of dollars funding the military industrial complex contracts that them and their buddies benefit from, meanwhile sending the young high potential competitors to their children or grandchildren off to die on the front line.
Anyway, the last thing they want to do is focus on taking care of the american people. IGMFY is the name of the game.
