I’m waiting for the I started enacting this bill that hasn’t even gone through the legislature yet, with the claims of “I needed to speed up the process”. Similar to the other article someone posted about the Senate not needing to approve cabinet positions because it will save time.
Why does that say they don’t have U.S. citizenship? They are natural U.S. citizens. Also U.S. appointed governor sounds a fishy title for a governor that is voted on by only the citizens of Puerto Rico. So yes they are “U.S. appointed” but the U.S. citizens appointing them are the residents of Puerto Rico.

Note: it may also be the easiest way to get a U.S. citizenship that many overlook. I have seen somewhere you can get a citizenship in PR with only 1 year of residency.
As for racism, yes that will exist for a few generations likely even after statehood, wish we could fix that but we backtracked a lot lately there it seems.
I assume they submitted the results and stated they need to be removed, then reviewed the supreme courts measure that stated they only have power to make measures if Congress grants them privilege to do so (precidence, set in Julyish of 2022 with the EPA) making the specialized divisions of government created by Congress illegitimate unless Congress votes on the measure afterwards, making them just superficial recommendations for Congress to wait and see what their lobbyists think is okay.

I believe Puerto Rico chose to not become a state most of the last 20 years. 2012 was the last real vote I remember. 55% or such wanted to become a state. But it was a small part of the population. 5% voted for independence. They are the world’s oldest colony if I remember (Guam same time). End of the Spanish Civil War in 1898.
We joined WW2 because a territory like Puerto Rico was attacked. I’m not sure why people liked Hawaii so much more other than propaganda tied to it having a good military base location. Also, not saying people shouldn’t have liked Hawaiins, just that clearly our view of the two territories is drastically different. I could almost guarantee the support percentage drops even more if it came to defending the people in Guam. Most people don’t even remember they are a territory, more remember part of Semoa than Guam around me
My dad went on a rant how Puerto Ricans are all lazy and just grift off the system to live off benefits. His only grandkids are born to a Puerto Rican, who passed the bar becoming a lawyer. (Prior to having kids with my only sibling)
Throw in that “no black people can raise kids”, and it was enough for me to cut contact.
Someone used to tell me one of the largest exports of Panama City Beach when I lived there was mulch. They would ship it to China for fuel apparently. Never would have thought about a smaller town shipping trees half a world away… Talk about inefficient.
So we built big tanks with a lever system like a piston on your car. Fill the left piston with water. With a small hole in the middle. For flow. If you do the math right you get the horse to walk up the stairs and stand on that piston(header really) the water drops slowly all day forced out of the hole spinning a turbine translating to electricity, preferably a battery. Horse never has to go down stairs thankfully, just back up the stairs to the other side. Moving from one side~ 3 meters every 12 hours should do it.

I suppose if the product in unnecessary, that would make sense. Required imports would stay selling at same prices until manufacturing plants elsewhere could be built for cheap enough to not just pay the tariffs. : /

China likely to reciprocate against the tariffs, why? They only hurt us, and help them. Placing Tariffs in the other direction makes their prices rise in their country, that doesn’t help them. They keep more industries by keeping prices low

While I agree with parts of what you said, and disagree with others, can you explain more about how India and China are the same team? Is that a reference to them still buying crude oil from Russia? That seems like a, cheaper prices, let’s take advantage. Last I knew they were still having border fights, but maybe that has stopped now. For the good of the innocent civilians forced into those scenarios, I hope it has.
I can’t see it being more affordable to use humans to farm asteroids than machines. Life support systems seem expensive long term. That said, I also can’t think of a resource that would be worth mining off planet in that time frame.
Why should a person who goes to the park care about the park?
If people are dumping trash everywhere and all the plants and animals are dying, I assume you wouldn’t like to spend much time there anymore.
Sure another park might be opened, but constantly changing parks isn’t what you want to do long term. If someone buys up the basketball court and turns it into a cesspool of hate, you can unsubscribe from that court and remove it from your park. Adding another one that is nicer, without completely going to a new park.
So if I’m understanding what you are saying correctly this is pro “book” burning. Only in this case it is games. If a group or entity wants to make a piece of history more scarce or wipe it from the planet because they disagree with it, buying up or destroying as many physical copies that exist would work because people legally can’t back them up or print more copies essentially?
