Thanks for the info. Splinter group or not, identifying with that acronym says to me that none of the espoused beliefs are dealbreakers. So to paraphrase my earlier post: Gross.
Another vote for Veeam. I use it at home and professionally. It’s a solid product and has saved my ass countless times.
Thank you for this write-up, extremely helpful. I’d probably have like 5 people on the instance, but network health is a very real concern. Probably want 100 users minimum or something per instance to be efficient.

If you’re breaking into the industry, I’d say esxi. If it’s a hobby, then proxmox since you’re already familiar.
I did it for a while and last everything. Go for it if your have adequate backups.
