A lot of people on Lemmy are just… old.
This thread made me realize this.
If this bill passes and any of you criticizes China/Russia for banning Facebook/Instagram/Twitter etc… under the name of “lack of freedom of speech”. I will be laughing. A lot.
A lot of people started their businesses on Tiktok. The Tiktok algorithm is actually way better than that of Instagram to reach your target niche. A lot content creators and marketing exes do realize this.
I don’t understand the mentality of users, of course of obviously older generation here, that realize Tiktok did in fact change a lot of people’s lives. It’s not just an app for dancing.
Let’s not forget the Tiktok Shop section.

Ukrainians are doing better in western countries like Germany either way!

Zionism and nazism are two sides of the same coin.
the algorithms just rewards “shocking” content; it generates conversation.
And I’m glad the boycotts are hitting them ever harder.
What is /HFY and who is Hambone? Sorry for my ignorance.
The pathetic-ness of the system stems within the fact that Moderators and Subreddit Creators cannot delete the Subreddits they created. I don’t know how we didn’t see this as a red flag.
And usually the moderators are people who suffer from said mental illnesses, so they know how to manage the community in a way that would be weird for a person who doesn’t suffer from mental illnesses would.
Simply put, a neurodivergent mod is more likely to relate to neurodivergent user than a neurotypical mod would relate to a neurodivergent user.
I agree, a lot of harm could be done if we throw random moderators in these subreddits.
Free speech was always a lie I guess
