Curious what you think the issues with AP are. Other than the nature of the fediverse being confusing to new users (not sure which instance to sign up for, etc), I haven’t had any issues with it. I would like to see community syncing between instances for more seamless discovery, though.

I’m not particularly worried about it. I can block them if they annoy me. And on the bright side, their large user base may help make the Fediverse mainstream enough to topple the tech giants.

Updates to macOS are free; the hardware sales make that possible.
Updates to third-party apps like MS Office and Adobe are entirely at the discretion of that vendor (both of those are likely subscription-only at this point).
LibreOffice is available for macOS, yes.
I think Oracle’s VirtualBox is still free for emulation. You can also use Boot Camp to install Windows natively for dual-booting.

Twenty years ago in High School, good weed was about $60/eighth in CA. $40 was for decent stuff.
With legalization, I can get decent stuff for $25 now — twenty years of inflation later. Anecdotal, sure, but it’s way cheaper for me now.

They do keep adding garbage that nobody wants, but the core product still works great. I plan on getting a jellyfin docker running in parallel though so I’m prepared in the event they piss me off too much.
