I am no Microsoft fanboy, but I get the impression people are a bit overly skeptical here.
I think this is fairly obvious. They have no further use for it, they can either let it rot or they can do the tiniest bit of effort and get some positive PR. It might also just be as simple as an initiative from some employees.
The advantage with democracy is that it is slow and most of the time end up with fairly sensible results. Decisions are often so complex that it is impossible for one person to actually understand it all. A consortium of advisors could fill that role, but they have to be benevolent and trustworthy too. Their decisions have to be based on something, so the advisors need researchers and people gathering intelligence and statistics. Those people also have to be trustworthy.
All these layers have to be with as benevolent as possible. In a well functioning democracy, all layers would feel safe. It is really important to be safe from harm when giving bad news, or telling the dictator/advisors that their idea is really dumb, and would be a waste of resources or have a bad effect.
You could argue that a benevolent dictator would welcome bad news, other arguments. However the difference in power would certainly make it scary anyways.
Succession is another issue, and mental decline. Some people become quite mean in old age.
The closest thing I could envision might work is some sort of semi-democratic technocracy. I still think improving democracy is better though

Avoid any youtubers that give advice on specific stocks to buy. All mentioned above are professionals, with different specialities within finance and personal finance.
Also be very skeptical about cryptocurrencies. If you really want to invest in it, then it should be a very low allocation. Maybe 1-2% of your net wealth. Most cryptocurrencies and projects are a scam. The youtubers I suggested do not promote crypto, or specific stocks.
I am not a professional, so keep that in mind :)
Why is this being downvoted? Its an unpopular opinion.
This sound a bit like depression, but I am no medical professional.
Imagine all the input you get every day both positive and negative. When we are depressed we do a worse job at filtering out the negative.
If this is how you feel all (or most) of the time for a prolonged period, I would consider talking to your doctor. Antidepressants can help a lot. They can take weeks to months to be effective, but they work.
If you are sceptical about medication, it does not hurt to read about it and how they work.
Anyways, I hope things improve for you!

I agree, there are art from AI that are great. It’s just so much AI generated low-effort art.
I have listened to a lot of songs from suno.ai
This one is fantastic https://suno.com/song/5b0ec0ca-6063-4a21-95b9-1433c35a3ded
This one is a true earworm: https://suno.com/song/093e95d7-1cb5-46b5-9342-39bc82621a7b
I also think it can be a fantastic tool to create truly original content as well.
The youtuber “There I ruined it” is a great example. If I have understood his process, he sings the songs himself and change his voice to be like the other artist.
I have been following their advice for years. I have replaced a couple of services with the suggested alternatives, and use GrapheneOS.
It is also useful to check their forum for discussion on why something is added/removed/not added
If you are new to the whole “privacy-thing” my advice would be to start figuring out your own threat model first. They have some guides for that.
Also remember that even though something does not make the cut to be mentioned as a recommendation, it might still be an improvement over what you currently use. The forums are great for discussions regarding that.
Gave you an upvote. This is an unpopular opinion shared on unpopularopinion.
Personally I find AI art to look like “AI-art” if that makes sense. It has this generic look and feel to it. It might just be that people have to prompt it differently to get something that does not look generic.
In my view it can be art, but it is just other peoples art regurgitated by a machine with lots of filtering (to prevent nudity and other things that art historically often contain)
I think the biggest issue with LLMs / AI is that it is a loophole to use other peoples work and avoid copyright and licenses.
In the scenario in which your computer is forgotten or stolen, it would offer some comfort knowing that the data on the computer is not accessible.
We have a “policy” in our household that everything that has personal data should be encrypted. That is just for cases in which we lose the device or it gets stolen. That makes it a purely financial loss, and not as invasive / uncomfortable.
But on the other hand my household are not average users. So it might not work well for other people.
