Oh yeah, I have been speedrunning my showers for most of my life, and no one ever told me I was doing it wrong. Only discovered the proper way to shower after seeing a professional car wash… Lol.

First off, not everyone who doesn’t wear deodorant smells, and secondly, some people shower regularly and use deodorant and still smell.
The diet, genetics, and what kind of bacteria live on your skin will affect the body’s odor. I struggled with body odor for years before I discovered that I was showering incorrectly. I learned that after lathering the soap and getting covered by it, you’re supposed to let it sit on the skin for a while before scrubbing and rinsing; this discovery which many consider obvious was new to me, and it stopped my body odour completely to the point I don’t need deodorant at all by simply showering with a correct technique.
The problem is that they don’t get hints at all… they are too dense.
Exactly man… fewer floods, more biodiversity, they look nice which is better for mental health and reducing hypertension (the number one risk factor correlated with deaths), some of them give you fruits or nuts to eat… Trees are awesome.
I think any city should strive to have at least as many trees as the number of people living in it.
Wait till you’re a billion years old, I’m exclusively attracted to supermassive black holes now…
This guy is the actual manifestation of mayonnaise.
A wizard is never late, nor is he early; he is born precisely when he means to.
This is my alt account since lemmy.ml is down at the moment of writing this.
Never had a smart light before, I have regular LED bulbs. I heard Philips Hue are now forcing users to sign up to their cloud thingy to control the bulbs, but I haven’t looked any deeper. Do you find yourself using the colour changing feature, or only change colour temperature/nothing?
up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A.
As a guy with misophonia, noise cancelling earbuds are preserving my sanity.
When I was a little kid and went to a store with my father, the registry had a ton of small coins and I assumed the guy behind the counter was super rich, because my dad had 5 or 6 coins in his wallet, and the guy had hundreds of coins. When my dad asked for change, and got a bunch of coins, I assumed the man was very generous and donated his money to my dad.
Maybe we could get them converted to residential units to get cheaper housing.
Since I am having no problems with lemmy.one, I’ll stay here, but thanks for the recommendation, maybe it will help someone else who is frustrated right now with their current instance performance.
You are correct, red meats are the worst for the environment, which is why I only eat them on special occasions, just like flying, it isn’t sustainable to overconsume, and it should be minimised to whichever level you are willing to do.
For ground beef, the best solution is to make sure you have enough fat to get good browning. People usually say 80/20 ratio, but I like to have 25% fat on my burger patties. As an experiment, try making a patty with lean meat and you will see how much the moisture will evaporate rapidly and take the heat away from the meat, giving you a sad grey meat. With enough fat, it will keep conducting heat into the crust without boiling all the water inside; as a bonus, you get juicy burgers this way.
Reeducation camps are not voluntary, these groups are voluntary ones; there is nothing wrong with helping people to leave their cults when they show interest in leaving.
I find that for many niche topics, the communities are pretty empty and inactive, which was the reason I loved Reddit in the first place. Hopefully with more users it will become mainstream.
Well said. I’m going to use that line in the future.
Nice try; Americans don’t have public transport.
