I assume for Meta’s platform they’d just get defederated very quickly from others. I think it actually could be a good thing in regards to introducing average users to the fediverse (I say this as someone who despises Meta)
Looking for a new online home

Beehaw is defederating from sh.itjustwor.ks and Lemmy.world.Personally I think it’s silly to be upset over it considering defederation is one of the selling points of Lemmy.
Beehaw is just going for a more curated experience which I think is completely fine. I’m sure once they have more moderators they’ll consider refederating anyway.
We’re probably still a few more special edition releases away from hearing a launch date
Agreed. It’s the one thing I kind of worry about with the fediverse. I don’t want to lose my account and subscriptions if and when the instance I signed up for gets shut down due to lack of funds
I own a subreddit that I’ll admit that it isn’t the largest but I’m going to be putting a link to the new corresponding Kbin magazine in the private message. I’m hoping other subreddits will as well
Yeah I am. I know there’s a way to filter out keywords and I’d do that but I would still like to hear of any major developments. I just don’t want to hear the same stories repeated over and over again
