Living in Australia means piracy is essentially legal - individuals can only be taken to court for the cost of one physical copy of the pirated media, so companies don’t even bother as long as you aren’t distributing. The more things in this area get worse, the more justified I feel in filling up my 10TB HDD.

It’ll be such a surprise when it turns out all 10 have been suicidal for years and/or extremely susceptible to infection.

I swear you can actually spot entire chains of comments consisting of only bots replying to other bots on every single submission that makes it to the front page. It’s baffling how fast and hard reddit has fallen.

It’s sad to see the number of comments here that still seem to be stuck in the misguided 80’s/90’s/00’s mindset of ‘nuclear power in real life is just as depicted in The Simpsons.’

I was a member of What.CD back in the day, and holy fuck, the elitism was insufferable… but the amount of genuine lossless music was unlike anywhere else, and the site was so well organized.

I like girls. I like how they look, I like the way they sound, I LOVE their fashion options. It isn’t really any deeper than that. That said, I’ll usually always play a male character in a Souls title, because [insert valid reason for inconsistency here.]

EDIT: I guess if I had to further expand on this, I’d say that female characters give me a way to explore options I don’t have as a tall, bearded, broad, ‘built’ man. I’ve always loved cuteness, hyperfeminine fashion, “girly stuff”, and so in addition to just really, really liking girls, video games allow me to explore the cute, feminine avenues I can’t in the real world.

Also, as another commenter stated, I’d also just rather look at a girl’s ass than a guy’s for the entirety of a playthrough lmao

Same thing here in Australia. No semiautomatic rifles after Port Arthur, but everyone thinks we banned guns completely (we didn’t, and there are more in the country now than ever in its history.)

We’ve still got semiautomatic handguns, our AR15’s just became pump action, and our shotguns had little buttons or levers added as bolt releases in order to skirt the law, with new variations popping up every time a ban happens (check out the Templeton T2000 - fires just as quickly as a regular semi-auto 12 gauge and is totally legal to own in the easiest license class to obtain.) Hell, I own five guns myself, two of which are handguns (Glock 19 and Beretta 92X both in 9mm, 10rnd mags.)

What Australia DOESN’T have is a culture of gun fetishization. How any American thinks these laws will work in their state, let alone the entire country, is just insane to me. I also happen to think that a government disarming people is a really fucking bad idea, and even a growing number of young Aussies are starting to change their views in that area as well.

So good on ya. Hold onto that AR. I’ll now accept everyone’s inevitable downvotes.

As someone who uses GrapheneOS but knows very little about the technical side of things, what implications does this have for the OS? I’ll actually just not use a smartphone anymore if I’m going to be forced back onto the privacy nightmare that is stock Android.

Keep in mind this is the same guy who said that he idolizes the way Musk has been running Twitter. It’s a real shame, because reddit is the only place I know to get actual real answers from actual real people for generally difficult or otherwise niche questions. I don’t use reddit anymore as a user, but without Google search, reddit is done (given that even ex-users like myself still affix ‘reddit’ to the end of a search query.) I have no idea what Spez is planning, but it can’t be any improvements to his site, because holy shit.

A modern video game releasing before completion in order to appease an ever-fattening group of shareholders that would sell their own mothers to the neighborhood pimp if it meant making an extra three cents? Color me FUCKING surprised.
