Even with an ad blocker, it gets more unusable every year that goes by
Because of the electoral college, my vote doesn’t mean much of anything in a presidential election because I live in a very blue state, not a swing state. I still vote, though.
The original post there was about somebody who had to pay back $6000 to the food stamp office because there was a year’s worth of overpayments. I said that even though the error was no fault of his own, he still had to pay it back. That is in fact true and I found myself permanently banned 30 minutes later.
I just find it strange that you can get banned for life just because you made one comment that the mods did not like. It’s not like I called the guy a scumbag or loser and that he should go to jail or something equally vindictive.
I think it’s about time to finally leave Reddit. I’ve been there for almost 15 years and I just got my first permanent ban from a legal advice sub for one single comment. I’m not sure what I said wrong because I never use inflammatory language. Oh well, I already left Twitter, time to bail on Reddit too.
I think the “invisible hand of the market” swats more people than it helps.
I’m pretty far left politically and I can think of a number of similarities between the two parties. The dynamics are very much the same in certain cases but the ideology driving it is different.
No Empire lasts forever.
15 years in September. I haven’t bailed completely but almost.
I’m pretty far left politically and I can’t stand Spez. The guy is the definitive self absorbed capitalist… seems pretty Republican to me.
Every time I did that I got downvoted to oblivion
I sort of understand that they are a necessary evil but I really get tired of seeing stuff like this
Never saw Pretty in Pink but enjoyed Molly Ringworm in The Breakfast Club. I also have a Kindle and am on the 3rd book in the Silo series. The other thing about e-books is that even bestsellers aren’t tracked by anyone. There are nowhere near as many books on various sites as there are movies and TV shows, but you can still find just about anything.
I’m disabled and on a fixed income and there’s no way I can afford 4 or 5 streaming services. I don’t even watch that much other than an occasional series like Silo and a movie once in a while. I think a lot more stuff is tracked now than it used to be(I even got hit for an older game) and it’s just not worth it to try without a VPN.
20 some years and I’m still doing it that way, except that I use Plex so I can watch stuff on the TV. I use Prowlarr once in a great while if I’m having a hard time finding something but I don’t DL anywhere near as much as I used to.
There really is some major gaslighting going on here and a lot of people don’t even see it.
I know but even if everybody begins to approach it with common sense rather than political posturing, we are probably going to run out of time. I’m in my 60s and don’t have any kids or grandkids but I still feel pretty badly for future generations.
Even if EV’s did reduce the world’s carbon footprint, it still would not have that big an effect overall
At first, the bots were kind of cute but then they began overrunning the whole site.
I’m in my mid 60s and know a few people that never even heard the term “browser extension” before. How they tolerate using the web with no ad blocking is beyond me.
