  • Yes. So what is the disagreement about then? Laws are essentially the enforceable moral code of the state. I do believe that people are ultimately responsible for their own laws but because of propaganda and misinformation by the capitalistic class they are rarely fully informed of the laws they vote for. The capitalistic class ensures to public are constantly misled so their candidates and lawmakers get picked. This ultimately sees the ruling 1% in control of the law and deciding what the state or country considers right or wrong. How much people do you think Biden really represents?

  • Lemmy.World and Lemmy. Ml are two different places. Lemmy ML was created as a safehaven for people from subreddits that were banned like ChapoTrapHouse. Lemmy. World is designed to be the general Lemmy Community. Lemmy. Ml was the biggest until the reddit issues but I am pretty sure Lemmy World is after overtaking them. Lemmy.ML is trying to steer traffic here because they know that their community wasn’t going to be palatable to the vast majority of people. There’s a wide variety here so it’s very hard to pinpoint where this place’s userbase stands politically.

Lemmy. ML and Lemmy.world are different places and it’s for the best if we just leave each be and have our own communities in peace.

  • The what if machine. The possibilities of that thing are endless. Products could be safety tested without the need for human or animal test subjects. It could be used you to vet political candidates running for office. If you used it for personal use then you could run every possible life decision through it to find the beneficial outcome.

The only downside is that people could literally spend their whole lives asking themselves what if using the what if machine than actually living their lives. Very much like that black mirror episode that featured the device that allowed people to relive all their memories.
