Most lemmy.ml users and communities are perfectly fine. I didnt notice a higher number of problematic users from ml than from other instances mine is federated to. I think hexbear and lemmygrad and a bunch of nazi instances are defederated.

This kind of brought us into this place in the first place. If people had cared to push the Democratic party to deliver, rather than being the other right wing economic choice for the tech billionaires, the Reps being for the oil billionaires (although the tech billionaires seem to have grown much more fascist these years) they could actually bring proper policy. Especially the unwillingness to make deeply needed economic, social and political reforms is a result of the party remaining in the firm grip of established elites like Biden, Clintons, Obama… Of course the fascist get stronger every election, if the two choices are fascists and economic right to far right.
Voting is not enough. It can merely be the start of digging the US out of the whole that it has moved itself into deeper and deeper.
I would appreciate less violence too. It feels like since GoT they have to put some gory violence and some sex scenes into everything that is targeted at an adult audience.
The point really is not about fundamental opposition. It is about being oversaturated and hence tired of it. That is why it is annoying when it doesn’t further the plot, is done cringey or well, seems like an attempt at being porn of some sort. That stuff worked in the 80s and 90s, when people still had to rent VHS. People being addicted to porn and harming themselves with their overconsumption but being in denial about it probably also adds in here.

Israel targets all angles of media. Have a look at reddit and you’ll easily find many pro-Israel bots. I remember once two different bots posting letter by letter the same comment in the same thread, some 8 hours apart. And that was ten years ago.
It is important to note though that it is not just Israel doing that. Any larger power has some sort of programs to influence public opinion and spread propaganda. Just that some get called out, like Russian bots.
There is 50-100 deaths a day that are recorded. Thanks to Israels deliberate destruction of the health system, fire fighters, journalists and other civilian infrastructure there is many more unrecorded deaths. And this is just people “missing”. On top there is all the indirect deaths that already occured or are inevitable from the total annihilation of infrastructure. The conservative estimates range from 200.000-300.000 people killed in Gaza. That is 10-15% of the total population.

Those other dozen countries are only doing because they follow the USs lead. And maybe Germany being hysterical about it instead of learning from its past, that never again must mean never again for everyone…
For Boeing it is absolutely known to be malice. They don’t “fail” to hold the engineers accountable. They push out the engineers that want to follow safety protocols and it is well documented.
Also many Christian groups seem to have a very liberal understanding of the first two commandments.

I get that. But the game is “finished”. there is no need for alterations. translating the assembler code into c++ in this way could serve to quickly get it in a format that is then compileable for other platforms.
But do we need this information then? E.g. shouldn’t it be possible to just write what the assembler is doing as a c++ code?
E.g. high level languages also support stuff like bitwise operators and so on.
“Enlightened” atheist centrists are often pretty similar to what they claim to be smarter about than people who follow religion and ideology.
And thinking one is “immune” because of their ability to “think critically” is a very solid step to vulnerability. You’ll finde the same wordings for Q-Anon and other conspiracy theorists referring to themselves.

If you tell people now that Democracy is dead, they don’t bother fighting the real fight, if and when push comes to shove.
Dems said this election is the end of Democracy, but still put an uninspiring right candidate. They said Trump is the fascist danger to all the US stands for. But having him and his crownies dismantled by getting criminal charges on them seemed to go too far. When grassroots movements came up and demanded change instead of embracing them, taking them seriously and talking with them properly, they were shunned and pushed down.
Now the greatest danger to corporate America are people to start organizing and taking to the streets. So hammer down the defeatist message, so the people suck up to their corporate overlords. The corporate overlords who won yet another election as both candidates represented their class interests.
