  • From the place I still use as they didn’t move, I haven’t seen a single mentioning of Lemmy, fedivers, black out or anything close. Makes sense as those communities didn’t even try moving.

In one of the subs I did notice a quality decline and it moving a bit from, people talking about shared experiences with a medical condition, to being babys first experience with medical condition, but it has moved back even so slightly, but the average age seems to have gone down.

The other one for a game. I can proudly say is just as low quality as before, but I stick around to give tech support, even if it of the absolute most basic nature sometimes, and keep up with updates, bugs and community fixes.

  • Reminds me of some post I read on Reddit regarding a Rimworld sex mod. So many people thought it was completely immoral and had no place in the game.

A game in which you can kidnap and cannibalis children, make clothes of their skin and sell it, a game where you can strap people to a bed, steal all of their organs, cut of their lega so they cant escape and keep them as a blood transfusion slave for ever. Missionary sex between a married couple in their own bed room is wrong and immoral.

That was definitely one of the weirdest takes I have read in a while, still is.

  • I seen that too. It has become especially apparent on a small sub I still view as it didn’t really migrate.

It went from people in their 20s discussing shared experiences with a medical condition, with the occasional high schooler dropping by to ask something. To babys first experiences, with condition. Absolutely filled to the brim with 13-17 year olds.

I’m fine with them being there and asking questions and talking, but not when every post and comment is just more teenage drama.

I seen a similar thing on another sub, while that has always screwed younger then the first, it definitely feels like it dropped like 5 years in average age.

  • It was Jim Browning, as another comment said. I can never remember his name more than Jim, so I settled for job description, as he is easy to find that way.

But others have been through it also, Linus Tech Tips, The Spiffing Britt and Atomic Shrimp are the other big ones I know of, but there is plenty more. Of those Atomic Shrimp is also a scam hunter like Jim, so it definitely shows that just because you are very familiar with what it looks like you aren’t immune too it.

I can’t remember if they all fell for the same or similar ones or if it was different ones, but that really doesn’t matter so much.

And what happend was Jim and LTT got tricked into deleting there channels. LTT by a fake sponsorship and Jim I don’t remember someone else said it was fake YouTube support.

Spiff had something of a similar thing happen but I don’t remember the means, and Atomic Shrimp I believe was a different typ of scam not related to YouTube.

But everyone got their channels back in the end.

  • Fine is a good description of it. I used to use it and it was fine, not excellent not horrible, just fine. Then after quite some time I looked into 3th party apps, mostly because I got tiered of how all ads became more and more disguised as normal posts.

I liked Infinity so I stuck with that for some time. Then I switched back to the official one as reading posts on the browser from mobil got worse and worse and I couldn’t open the links in Infinity. The official app was ones again fine, a lot worse then Infinity but it was fine.

Then I figured out that you can make Infinity open reddit links and I switched back to Infinity again.

Then Reddit did what it did and now I use RedReader to read some communities that didn’t move.
