Yeah, I’m big into the NFL and fantasy football subreddits, so I’m glad it’s the off season, but once the season starts I’m going to really miss those threads.

I agree. Lemmy takes a bit to get used to. I think if content starts to get worse on Reddit, more people will get bored and switch. Hopefully by then those early kinks in lemmy will have been cleared out.
I’ve been slowly trying to transition to Lemmy with this in mind. After June 30th, RIF won’t be working and I don’t plan on installing the official app so I’m trying to get adjusted to Lemmy before then.
I agree. There’s definitely work to be done but considering the massive influx I think it’s doing pretty decently okay
This would be interesting to see if certain articles were pushed up or down by bot accounts.
This could be anywhere from news articles being buried/promoted or by hidden advertising within a post.
1.2 mil bot accounts? Can they each send me $1?
Gotta cash in on that life insurance check while you’re still alive!
I’m right there, or close and getting closer every day. Ever since I removed Reddit from my home screen on my phone the temptation is a lot less me
That’s the thing though. The current mods are volunteers. Is Reddit going to replace them with paid mods or are they going to hope other volunteers step up? It could turn into a shit show if subs go unmodded or are poorly moderated.
Or Reddit is going to have to spend money paying for moderators, which is great but another consequence of their decision.
You’re right Lemmy is going to take a bit to get used to, but the kicker for me (and maybe a lot of people) is going to be at the end of the month when the 3rd party apps shut down. I’m either going to have to get used to something new either way, whether it be Lemmy or the official Reddit app and my understanding is that the official app is littered with ads and promotions that no one cares about so I probably won’t even bother.
Yeah this is taken from the AMA, which was a waste of time for everyone
There are enough reposts to keep them busy for a while I think. I swear the same post would get reposted a few weeks after the original and get just as many or more upvotes than the first time. And the top comments were usually the same or similar.
