She’s got the crazy eyes for sure.
She’s got the crazy eyes for sure.
Dell announced a new return-to-office initiative earlier this year. In the new plan, workers had to classify themselves as remote or hybrid.
Those who classified themselves as hybrid are subject to a tracking system that ensures they are in a physical office 39 days a quarter, which works out to close to three days per work week.
Alternatively, by classifying themselves as remote, workers agree they can no longer be promoted or hired into new roles within the company.
Holy corporate oppression, Batman! That’s a shitty deal no matter which option you choose.
I’m glad they’ve got themselves into a sticky situation.
Also, this observation was funny (in a sad way):
One person said they’d spoken with colleagues who had chosen to go hybrid, and those colleagues reported doing work in mostly empty offices punctuated with video calls with people who were in other mostly empty offices.
Oh there’s still far too much adulation. All those Tesla bros, for example. Given what an insufferable turd Musk is, and the crumby reputation Teslas have, I don’t understand it. And I don’t think I ever will.
Nope, he can’t manage that. Because he’s an attention-whoring malignant narcissist.
I can’t wait for the bubble of mystique to pop on this arsehole, if only so we don’t have to ever hear from or about him again. Sadly, there are still plenty of rubes in his cult of personality and greedy investors willing to ride his coattails. So I’m not holding my breath.
His whole Western obsession/trope is getting really old. I wish they’d quit with these shitty western movies starring dollar store Eastwood.
A wizard never falls. He departs the stage precisely as he means to.
There are a quite a lot of nursing and medical admin staff in healthcare who are rabidly antivax. At least in America, so I assume it’s at least partially true in Canada to. I wonder if that had something to do with this clearly terrible pairing of organization and washed-up clown ‘comedian’.
Calling him an “actor” is incredibly generous.
Haha, strong ‘proud boys’ vibes.
It still cracks me up that a group of bigoted, homophobic men chose the name ‘proud boys’ for themselves. Surely they knew all the jokes that would bring?
That would add a funny side to it.
Apart from the fact that this counter celebration is cringey and time-deaf, that’s also a really long-winded and uncatchy name for it. Why didn’t they call it Straight Joy Month, or something more succinct.
I only discovered Krita recently, but holy shit does it fill the Photoshop void very well. The UI isn’t the same as PS, obviously. But I find it much easier to navigate than Gimp’s UI. And Krita is surprisingly feature-rich.
He’d be a fool to try to run. Because nothing is going to happen to him with these convictions anyway. The vast majority of his supported will just wave it away as “persecution!” And his team will just drag it through the appeals courts all the way up to the US supreme Court, which in their flagrantly bias wisdom will just dismiss the charges for him.
Free market, states rights, first amendment… Only when it suits them.
No, I’m saying that whenever they would run into any problem with the OS they would need to either figure out how to overcome it, or I works need to help them with it. It could be a more technical issue. It is could be a case of " how do you do this thing in the Linux UI? Because it’s different from Windows."
Those upcoming changes are why I’ve been playing with the idea of a complete switch to Linux. While I use Linux regularly (but certainly not exclusively) and feel comfortable making the transition to it from Windows, my wife and kids would struggle with some aspects of Linux. And committing all of us to that OS transition would mean a commitment for me of troubleshooting, assisting, and educating the family.
Thanks OP for this post. I know you’re getting some shit for it, but I and others appreciate your honest findings.
I don’t think OP’s analysis should be taken as offensive or disingenuous by others here. And I don’t understand why they are getting shit. I’ve been using Linux off and on for 20 years. It’s come an insanely long way in that timeframe with its usability for less technical users. But yes, there are still some gaps to fill. And the way to fix them is to listen to honest feedback like OP’s.
I hope these disgusting cops get fired and prosecuted for what they did to this poor guy (and his dog). But that’s not how it seems to works. These scumbag will probably just get put on paid administrative leave until another police department recruits them. And then they will become a nightmare for the residents of a different location.
And that Trump puppet’s name? Kermit the Fraud.
I don’t have a direct answer to your question. But I advise caution in putting your creative works online in the way you are planning. Between people plagiarizing it (either word for word or just the broader concepts) and AIs doing similar things, you could find that your work gets stolen.
Self-publishing might at least give you a bit of inherent copyright protection. Then at least you will have an ISBN associated to it, and you can always host your stories somewhere (WordPress, Medium, etc.).
If you want to self-publish your stories a free service like Smash Words would work.
The instance name is perfect for this community, haha.
