1·1 year agoI think it’s the difference between the call ending suddenly (hang up) and the call not responding for several seconds before dropping (lost connection).
Kindle devices are nice but not at all FOSS, and not very open either. Although you can sideload books, EPUB files are still not directly supported, you have to convert them. Converting is easy with Calibre but it’s still a hassle that is not needed on any other ereader.
There’s a vibrant jailbreak community on MobileRead, however Amazon keeps blocking jailbreaks.
After my Kindle died I got a Kobo instead. Costs about the same as Kindle (maybe slightly more?). Still not fully open, but supports EPUB and its MobileRead community is just as vibrant (and Kobo doesn’t block you from doing this).
I haven’t. I’ve actually become increasingly desperate searching for ways to waste time on my phone. What else am I going to do, work?
People who have accessories with a lightning adapter probably. Speakers, docks, etc.
Are those common? I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a speaker with a built-in Lightning dock.
I remember these iPod docks were very common at the time of the 30-pin connector. However by the time Lightning came around wireless audio became more commonplace with Bluetooth, AirPlay and other related technologies (CarPlay, smart speakers etc.)
Who is this for? Looking at the Apple Store, they sell an official USB-C cable for less ($19, but you can obviously find good quality third-party cables for much less).

Lol thanks, I appreciate the push. I have more important things to be pushed towards though, such as work and personal tasks.
Both Bitbucket and Confluence partially support Markdown, but they implement it in different ways, which is maddening.
I keep meaning to check out Obsidian, but I’m like you said, lazy.
The thing I dislike most about Atlassian products is that each of them has a completely different formatting engine and markup syntax. You’d think they’d be consistent but noooo

Back in the 2000s, most memes were just cat pictures. Longcat [is long], ceiling cat [is watching you], keyboard cat, grumpy cat etc.
Also #BrusselsLockdown hashtag was used in 2015 to ease political tension.
On the other hand there’s also an overrepresentation of tankies. I don’t think those are the same people.
Why would they work well? Their business model doesn’t incentivize dating apps to work well. They sell subscriptions so they’d rather their users stay perpetually single and become increasingly desperate.
