6·2 days agoIt’s heavily affected by the fact that I used to listen to After the Revolution to fall asleep (in a good way! It’s a great book and Robert Evans’ voice is soothing IMO), but here’s mine:
11·2 days agoBecause politicians are generally opportunists and the fascist party offers more opportunities for personal enrichment for those with no loyalty to their voters.
Also, doing it in the other direction is a surefire way to get death threats and worse…

As does being too amoral to worry about how your actions affect other people.
They probably don’t get ZERO stress and anxiety, but they get so little compared to regular people as well as access to top notch healthcare and the best food that it’s literally not unusual for them to live at least a decade longer as a result.

6·4 days agoI knew about the origin, but always thought it was called Hawaiian because of the combination of pineapple and ham, both of which are known as staples of modern Hawaiian food. TIL!
Actually, it was 4 casings, saying Delay, Deny, Depose, and Defend. Also, even if it wasn’t, “misinformation” is WAY too dramatic a term to use for making a common mistake about a word when that word is usually used to describe deliberately spreading disinformation.
Besides, speaking of misinformation, “the NYPD clarified” doesn’t hold a lot of weight without confirmation from a more trustworthy source.
