One of my friends had some rough experiences in some communities after it. I’d have to dig up the screenshots but it was atrocious. She’s not even American but she flat out said it made her want to take a break from online for a while.

I’ve never seen anything like it considering the game we play together tends to have a more progressive and welcoming community that lashes out against open misconduct like that.

Millennials, zoomers and even gen alpha likely won’t be much different. There’s a difference between understanding how to use technology and understanding the intricacies of technology, understanding how to regulate or use different functions of it. The majority of boomers know how to use a modern phone. They don’t know how to properly take care of the phone nor do they understand how it functions, but they know how to use it. A lot of younger people aren’t much different.

I’ve heard people are starting to do this on TikTok as well. I think it says more about us a civilization than anything. This is a clear scarcity/enshittification issue. Everyone wants good value and good quality products. Unfortunately a lot of mom/pop shops that produce those products don’t want to expand and if they do end up franchised capitalism’s ever growing desire for increased gains ensures that the franchised products only become worse over time.

It’s a clear shame to see capitalism pitting people against each other in this fashion.

I feel that but society has been like that forever. Trust me, it used to be something that frustrated me excessively but I’ve just come to accept that even throughout history people are just shallow.

Walz really is the ideal politician but he might be rough around the edges after 8 years. He already looks a bit older than what he is and I don’t consider his speaking to be quite as good as Harris’s. It would preferential if we started looking towards building up younger politicians within the party with people like Walz providing support.

I wish I could say this instead of having to schedule my vacation time a month in advance.

I stand by my opinion that learning systems training on copyrighted materials isn’t the problem, it’s companies super eager to replace human workers with automation (or replace skilled workers with cheaper, unskilled workers).

I mean it’s the heart of the issue.

OpenAI isn’t even the big issue regarding this. It’s other companies that are developing and training specialized LLMs on their own employees. These companies have the capital to take the loss on the project because in their eyes it’ll eventually turn into a gain as long as they get it right eventually.

GPT and OpenAI is just a minor distraction in regards to what is being cooked up behind the scenes, but I still wouldn’t give them a free pass for that either.

Yeah. I suspect many of us knew her stance on this issue before she said it but she really did not need to say it.

I appreciate the honesty but I do wish that she would avoid this one topic in particular. This is an issue that younger voters feel very strongly about. Younger voter turnout may not be good anyways, but I would really do my best to avoid upsetting that crowd. We’re not trying to make people go back to feeling apathetic regarding the election again.

It doesn’t take too many traitors to the party to ruin any attempts at passing progressive legislation sadly. Even if it’s not the usual suspects like Sinema or Manchin someone will always step up, and if they don’t get voted back into office later then they’ll just cash in those connections with a lobbying firm.

There are merits for it and against it. My biggest concerns would be privacy regarding data scrapers .

Regarding poor behavior, I really think that ultimately comes down to moderation on the platform. I’ve only had a few poor experiences but I am also someone who sometimes sees certain threads as dumpster fires and refrains from joining in or refrains from responding when I feel there isn’t any form of discussion or chatter to be had. I can understand that it likely happens more often than not but I also believe that moderation is the only reasonable way of curbing it. Moderation teams have to make it clear that the behavior is not welcome and that it will be dealt with.

Not sure what anyone expected. This is just how conservatives are. These people have no morals or beliefs other than doing whatever is best for them at the current moment in time and they won’t even bother to disguise or hide it.

Walz is what gives me hope.

Harris taking up the candidacy was great. It felt good to be listened to but the hype wore off quickly as you realized that the party itself had not changed, only the face. She’s also been quietly changing her stances on some issues, shifting around center right. The Biden-Harris administration does have its own achievements but it tends to feel like the rest of the Democrat party where you’re voting more so for ideals which may or may not be implemented. Walz is more than talk though and it’s not like he hasn’t faced some of the same hurdles that other Democrats have either.

Walz is entirely what keeps me from feeling like I’m just voting to keep Trump out right now.

A lot of people seem to be missing the point.

There is nothing wrong with sex work or having an OnlyFans. There is absolutely a lot wrong with the fact that the top athletes of our world who perform on the top athletic stage of the world are destitute to the point of having to fund themselves this way. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe anyone should have to use this as a last resort either but it’s very telling of society as it currently is when these people are having to do so.

He’s probably nervous regarding GOP fearmongering.

Any attempts by him to shore up security around the election will be labeled by Republicans as tampering and he probably doesn’t want to be responsible for anything to come out of that especially if he’s going into retirement after this term.

Obviously they’re going to fearmonger regarding election results anyways despite being the ones who are more than likely going to attempt to alter the results but it’d still be adding fuel to the fire that he’ll have to deal with. Don’t really need to have the entire discussion on Republicans, their lack of logic and Democrats sometimes not quite being up to the task of dealing with the dumb fuckery put forth by them.

He’ll have my utmost respect if he goes above and beyond to do this anyways though.

Even if AI was absolutely impeccable it will always feel better to use products that involve real human beings.

I’d be worried if he wasn’t getting backlash. Actually, I’m still worried because there clearly isn’t enough backlash.
