Not to mention literally all of the good processors come from Taiwan.

One word. Tesla.
It became the Apple of automobiles and everyone was rushing to copy them. Then came the fall of Elon and everyone is realizing how full of shit the company is.
The US “Green Party” isn’t really a party or even a cohesive group of any sort. They don’t actually stand for anything other than “not the democrat”. Oh, sure they throw stuff onto a platform for the election to try to convince everyone they stand for something but mostly it’s a small fraction of former Democrats who come out of the woodwork every 4 years to obfuscate the presidential election with the net end result of taking a handful or votes that would have otherwise gone to a democratic candidate. After this election is over they will vanish again as though they were never there. This has been their modus operandi since their inception.
Well, this is The Register. Not exactly a paragon of stellar reporting here.
Watch her get out in a year and be invited to go on the Republican lecture circuit to talk about how woke politics is ruining American college campuses.
This isn’t a joke, I seriously think this will happen.
Yeah, there is a whole load of Steam games that will only play on Windows systems. I’m looking forward to testing the new implementation of WINE and see if it measures up. If so, I may be dumping Windows 10 for a Linux flavor. Though I don’t know if I can get the Windows XBox app to work on WINE. So that’s a consideration.
There are registry keys you can use to completely disable Copilot.
I switched to Firefox over the summer and have been mostly happy with my decision.
However, there have been a LOT of issues with video playback on certain sites and I really don’t know how to fix them. Searches have been just about useless in regards to finding a fix. The worst one is Nebula. The video often just freezes while the audio just keeps trucking along like nothing is wrong. This has happened to a more limited extent with some YouTube videos as well. And the TAB crash on some sites is quite infuriating.
Or you could have, you know, read the article.
- Lack of competition in the market via mergers and acquisitions
- Companies change things on the back end (“twiddle their knobs”) to improve their fortunes and have a united, consolidated front to prevent any lawmaking that might constrain them
- Companies then embrace tech law to prevent new entrants into the market or consumer rights (see: DMCA, etc.)
This is the criteria he has laid out for the “enshitifacation” of the Internet.
This is funny to me because this is the exact pattern of every industry and service in the United States ever. The Internet isn’t special, it’s just the latest frontier for capitalism.
It’s funny, literally every Doctor Who fan knows this word and what it means thanks to Neil Gaiman.
True. The instant response that exists now is only because this is a pilot program and they want to prove that it works. Once it’s normalized they will lay off most of the rider support and fuck you if you have to wait on the line.
No, but then the same is true of taxis and Ubers. They all have some kind of recording equipment in them for ensuring safety and cover in case someone claims something.
I lieu of that, I’d say the mods should just go limp. Stop moderating content and let posters run wild. The company needs to realize just how much their business model depends on all that unpaid labor.
Except you can’t make Steam offer their content offline like that. By altering the language they use it effectively makes them more transparent about what you are really paying for. So, in order to use the word “buy” or “purchase” they would have to make the content available offline, or they have to use a different word that essentially means “rent” or “subscribe” cause that is what is actually happening.
I just never gave my TV access to the Internet and use my home theater PC to watch stuff. Never seen a need for more.
Unfortunately he won’t. This is just press for his show now. It’ll draw more of an audience to watch the shitshow and net him millions and he won’t learn a thing.
They are heavier and accelerate faster than an equivalent ICE vehicle on the same frame, and so result in more pedestrian fatalities.
Well, gas stations don’t really want electric because it would cut into their main source of revenue so I think I may have spotted the bottleneck.
The only way charging stations will become prevalent is if municipalities start setting them up. Either that or grocery stores. Though Answers with Joe made an interesting case for Buccees adopting charging stations as a method of generating revenue through increased tourism at their locations.
I don’t know about you all but as soon as Trump was elected I immediately resolved to cut my personal spending by as much as humanly possible. I’ve already canceled many of my subscription services and I have reduced my use of Amazon and other online purchases to absolute zero. I’m going to work on paying down every dime of debt I owe as soon as possible and save every penny. Because shit’s going to get fucked in the next 4 years with these clowns in charge. It’s gonna be a light Christmas in my household this year.
I highly recommend you all do the same. Don’t be the last one holding the bag when the music stops and reality sets in. For example, look at the people in the UK after Brexit.
