Dang, that stinks - I actually enjoy the steering mechanics in this game. It’s the only mobile game I have played in many many years because it’s easy to play a race or two and put the game away.

Cool - forcing ads into the start menu, forcing edge on users. Guess like Win10 is where I leave windows forever.
I downloaded Mandrake Linux back in 1992. I’ve always fiddled with linux over the years but could never fulfill all my needs. But things have changed recently. I’ve started using ChatGPT to help me when I hit roadblocks with Linux, and it’s REALLY helped work around the various barriers that have kept me from fully adopting linux. Honestly, I am looking forward to switching entirely over to Linux for my business - I’m tired of Windows. And I’ve been here since Win3.1!!
Dammmn, that’s a sick burn. I love it
Yep, exactly. As cool as DU rounds sound on the battlefield as a competitive advantage for piercing armor. They are a health risk to both the soldiers handling them and absolutely poisons the soil which will have an affect on future generations living on that land.
But I guess that’s the point - to scare the russians as well as salt the earth so it’s useless irradiated soil for either side to use for decades to come… Or I’m sure if Russia keeps the land, they’ll simply mine it anyways and who gives a hoot about the health of government workers mining resources for the motherland, right?? /s
Lol, oh sweet child. You have much to learn about what a corporation says, and what they’re forced to do by government regulations. Without them, corporations can (and will) do anything they want for the sake of more profits.
Unfortunately, with a country run by a bunch of geriatrics who hardly understand the concept of the “internet” and hardware/software, let alone the nuances of different social media platforms or how different communities within the internet interact.
I avoided chrome for a long time. Finally I made the switch because FF was getting too slow on old computers back in the day. Lasted for maybe five or six years before I started getting some bad vibes. Why am I letting google run the web browsing software I’m using? This can’t/won’t be good in the future.
At least five years ago I made the switch back to Firefox, and haven’t looked back. I love having adblocking that works (I use a router level ad block and ublock origin just in case to ensure I block almost every ad on the internet lol).
I’m honestly surprised it took people this long to decide to move away from Chrome.
I love these types of articles. I feel like there should be a community for these, but I don’t know what it’d be called

well, I mean if the shoe fits, you know they’re gonna wear it
There’s been a lot of chatter that he is seriously ill (I’ve heard cancer or Parkinson, but who knows what it really is) - people who’ve analyzed the recent photos say they see swelling in his hands/wrists which could indicate the use of strong steroids which are known to alter thought processes that could explain his recent believe that he could win a conflict with Ukraine and beat India to the south pole of the moon (concurrently no less).
I’m honestly impressed that russia admitted the landing failed at all, I figured they would have simply kept quiet. I guess they know we have strong enough telescopes to see the crash site? Who knows lol
Well, I mean NASA pulled a spare mars rover out of their R&D testing labs, modified it’s toolset a bit, and sent it to Mars for a second soft landing (didn’t they use a sky-crane for both rover deployments?). I’d say that takes a bit more skill than landing on the Moon. But I don’t play Kerbal Space Program enough to know how much
Hot dang, I never heard of that mod, I’ll have to check it out! lol
Quake itself was ok. The multiplayer version was fun. But the real fun started when people began modding the game. The original Team Fortress was actually a free mod for Quake which I’m pretty sure quickly became the most popular instance of the game for online play.
Funny random tidbit, I actually remember playing the game with one dude who specifically had to brag about having a high powered 1ghz processor as his username in the game (something like 1gigahertz or something cheesy like that). Pretty sure back then I was still rocking a 700mhz AMD Athlon Thunderbird processor.
My partner needed to buy a new vehicle. A Tesla Model was easily in budget. But they opted not to buy one because they want zero affiliation with Musk or any connotations that they may endorse his behavior by owning one of his products.
Funny, during the boycott of Reddit when squabbles was growing, I signed up and created two new communities - one for earbuds and one for vaporents (dry herbal vaporizing).
My earbuds community was quicky approved, but the vaporents group took almost a week before it was approved. It’s almost like the site’s owner (since back then he had no mods or admin team) was hesitant when it came to something possibly clandestine in nature. I guess drugs aren’t cool, but hate speech is?
Y’all ready for a wild ride through the most fashion-forward shifter boot experience this side of the Mississippi? Get ready to show off your squirrel swagger and leave them other drivers in the dust, wishin’ they had a piece of that woodland wonder right in their palms. Saddle up, folks – it’s time to squirrel up your ride!
Just don’t subscribe. When netflix pissed me off, I unsubscribed. When Adobe moved to a subscription based platform, I forced myself to learn alternative applications (although I still have a copy of Adobe Creative Suite from 2003 which I am still using on old laptop when needed). When Microsoft started charging a subscription to use “office” apps, I switched to LibreOffice. During Covid when I wasn’t using my gym membership I cancelled it and used that $75/month savings to start building a home gym setup (it ain’t great, but its better than nothing!)
If something is a subscription, I either find an alternative program/service, or simply don’t use it.
Thanks, kbin uses the @ symbol instead of ! to link to communities/magazines :-)
I’m not back, I don’t miss that place - kbin/lemmy has been awesome and getting better every day.
This place reminds me of Reddit 10+ years ago
Someone else recently explained it best: It’s elderly abuse.
The entourage encircling these elderly congressional leaders are profiting greatly. As soon as these senators retire, these leeches lose nearly everything.
It’s a Weekend At Bernie’s movie plot, but with extra steps.
