Maybe safe is the wrong word in my post. I mean keeping the data safe from meta in the respect that I don’t want them to have it. Their record in data privacy is not so great so I’m keen to keep my data away from Meta if I can.
Guitars, pedals, drums, bass, cats, F1, board games, D&D, other interesting things

Game changer!
+1 for notesnook, self hosting coming soon
I also tried Joplin and while it’s great while using it, there’s no background sync and never will be. That’s a huge pain when you’re mobile and need to get at your notes but have little or no signal.
I’ve been getting on well with notesnook, the self hosting is in beta right now but its just a docker container. Docs are coming for self hosting in the near future.
The criteria for me when I was looking for a notes app were:
Notesnook hits all of these. I wish it had a dedicated desktop app but that’s something I can just use a browser window for.
I just replaced my headphones with a set of these https://global.beyerdynamic.com/dt-770-pro-x-limited-edition.html
They’re so comfortable and sound incredible, they’re mostly intended for audio work which I do use them for but for gaming they’re so precise and clear too! Also incredibly comfy and loads of aftermarket stuff available for the dt700 pro x which are also excellent.
You’ll want a mic with these and I can also recommend this if you want a headset style mic rather than a standalone one on your desk: https://antlionaudio.com/collections/microphones
Seeding! Thanks for doing this.
+1 for github, ive used the project and discussion features before and they integrate nicely. You can join it all together with pull requests as well.
A friend of mine introduced me to this, it’s a great idea. Hope it gains some traction. Basically a purposefully vulnerable online game to help educate developers and of course a cheaters sandbox. https://pwnadventure.com/
Naturally , there’s no money in it so it wont stop cheaters elsewhere but a cool idea nonetheless.
Another +1 for bitwarden, been using it for years without sub but I could see it being worth it.
Pro tips, ty! I was hoping for something mobile friendly but this will definitely help!
