??? are you just resorting to bringing up completely unrelated shit to escape embarrassment? I imagined context could make it clear but mentioning “former communist countries” I was speaking of communist countries in history which formerly existed, but now no longer exist. If I meant countries which were communist but now aren’t, I would have specified “formerly communist countries”. Why would you even think it was implying that a country being communist in the past means it’s leftist in the present? How do you reason that?

Edit: lol apparently @[email protected] or an admin is removing the replies because they speak of Lenin’s Gulags, dekulakization, and Mao’s Laogai. Funny what kind of comments get removed by .ml mods; apparently not comments trying to suddenly bring antisemitism into the conversation, and not comments pretending that saying sometimes in history leftist governments have interned kids means I must both be anti-leftist and making excuses for the US’ treatment of immigrants.

How do you, with a straight face, say “criticizing a communist leader/government means you hate jews”? You are simply resorting to making up “you’re an antisemite” out of thin air to invalidate others. I have literally not once mentioned judaism. I don’t even know if I’ve mentioned jews in my entire comment history before you randomly started blaming jews for alleged “anticommunism”.

You are using discrimination against jews as a tool to attempt silencing others. You accusing everyone else of being an “antisemite” is your way of avoiding your own responsibility and putting others in a box. Let me guess, you support the Israeli genocide of Palestinians and use “antisemite” to defend it too?

I don’t remember a time where kidnapping people and putting them into concentration camps away from their families made something not left, actually it seems pretty common in former and current communist countries lol…

but actually i meant “slightly more left” in the sense of economic-social matters, not… killing or kidnapping people matters. he has done quite a lot to improve social services and lessen the financial fuckedness of many government programs, for example.

The only things that the Biden administration has done that’s bad is genocide obviously, but a little genocide never hurt anybody… I guess you could try blaming him for inflation or gas prices, or the fallout of COVID-19, but that would be kind of dumb

You can, of course, say he hasn’t done enough, which wouldn’t be wrong, but the things he’s done have had a pretty positive effect on the country and have brought us at least a little closer to the left – even with an opposing congress. I can’t say I like how he treats, say, nationalism and the Middle East, but he’s at least somewhat redeemed himself from just being a “moderate Republican” I would say. At least his administration has brought in officials who are tougher on corporations, even if he’s still a corporate Democrat.

  • at firehouse subs a gluten free roll costs +$1.50, they don’t even prepare it separately from normal bread and use all the same tools for it (except for not cutting it) so it’s not actually properly gluten-free, it’s almost certainly contaminated with gluten.

jersey mikes also charges +$1.50 (medium) to +$3.00 (large) to get gluten-free bread, but at least they have to go through a whole ritual to prepare it where they use COMPLETELY different tools and gloves and stuff, and it is generally actually non-contaminated unless, you specify that it’s not for allergies.

source: i worked at both firehouse subs and jersey mikes before, i fucking hated when people ordered gluten-free at jersey mikes but i always did it as required obviously. i didn’t actually ever charge extra to people who were getting gluten free because i didn’t know that was an option on the cash register at first lol, but even after i learned i just forgot / didn’t care enough to do it. some people were really grateful and thanked me after seeing me go through an entire process to make sure the gluten-free sub had no gluten on it

  • i don’t wanna be the one to tell the slaves “hey guys i know forced labour sucks and all but we gotta have more ammo for this random war half-way across the globe so you’ll just have to push through it”

same for things like EVs. i like things that use batteries a lot, but i’d really have a stronger guarantee that the materials to make it aren’t sourced by slave labour or methods that harm the local ecosystem… i mean a large part of that problem is also that the US has fuck all for recycling laws, i don’t think most lithium is actually recycled anyways. but that’s a different topic

  • The US gets 1/5 of its power from nuclear energy, and produces 2,000 metric tons of nuclear waste per year – only enough to fill about half of the volume of an olympic-sized swimming pool (and about the same weight as 10 wind turbines).

Only 3% of all of that waste is actually long-lived and highly radioactive, potentially requiring isolation from the environment. In France, this number goes down to 0.2% due to fuel being reprocessed.

Taking that into consideration, that means it would take about 2/3 of a century for the US to produce enough dangerous nuclear waste to fill this pool completely. And it can still be way more efficient.

Nuclear produces negligible amounts of actual waste for the amount of energy it gives us. The problems with nuclear aren’t at all the waste, rather it’s the current highly used methods that are used to harvest the fuel (slave labour and unsafe, dirty, destructive drilling). Very similar problems faced with, say, lithium and cobalt.

  • download Ryujinx, get keys by downloading them from a site (like from prodkeys.net) and you should get files “prod.keys” and “title.keys”, place them in “./Ryujinx/system/”. then you can go on a site like www.nxbrew.com, download nsp or xci files of the game (and a potential updates and whatever dlc), and throw them in folders of your choice (i personally have a “roms” folder with all my game files for different consoles, including a “switch” folder, with folders called “games” and subfolders “updates”, “dlc”, “mods”, “cheats”).

then, get on ryujinx, select the folder with your games as your game directory, and your games should be visible. you can right click on the game on the list and add updates or dlc, you can go to the mod directory ryujinx made for the game and add a bunch of folders with the mod data inside of it (for example, for ACNH i might have a folder called “360_camera” and inside of it will be a folder called “romfs”/“romFs” which will have a bunch of files/folders for the mod in it) and then select the mods to enable. for cheats you just need a folder named “cheats” in the mod directory and then you can put cheats for the game in plain text in the folder.

you can also mess with the graphics settings, use an input device (probably an xbox/playstation/switch controller), change datetime (although i find it doesn’t allow you to make the date out of sync with your device’s date, so you may want to go to your computer settings and manually change it if you want to do that), etc.

redditors even on piracy subs treat actually pirating things like it’s voldemort, so when i wanted to emulate switch games it was a pain in the ass for me to find out what i needed to do, i hope this helps you not run into those issues lol.
