Hey, I’m Dan, I discovered Beehaw from posts on Reddit, and I am glad I did. That other place was bevoming less and less appealing. Anyway, I’m a dad who is a web developer. I love Ruby and solving problems. I’m also involved in scouting through yhe BSA, and my wife and I run a local cub scout pack.
I’m not sure what you’re getting at. Isn’t the point of the post is that it is a good thing that people who are intolerant of perspectives that challenge their own are avoiding Lemmy.
In general I tend to avoid people who are incapable of entertaining other viewpoints. They tend to stubbornly defend their frail counterpoints and then resort to childish antics when people don’t agree with them.
They would rather be wrong than accept that they are wrong.
Even if the servers don’t. I’d rather deal with downtime (aka forced detox😅) than the ads, the negative trolls, the dumb UI that constantly pushes their app, and so on. Reddit only works because it has so much fresh content. If that breaks down than so will it.
