Ooooh can we sue them? I’d love to sue them. Shout it out loud that they are purposely manipulating users and investors into thinking how bad Lemmy is and how many ppl have opinions.

As if bbc wouldn’t get you upvoted to oblivion
On one hand I agree, on the other hand the original point of contention was price per request, and less people = less requests.
Then again that means less ppl to maybe make enough of a margin to cover development and maintenance costs.
It’s Def gonna be interesting, just a little complex.
Omg that was the Reddit client I used
All my dreams are coming true. This was worth seeing Reddit crash and burn. Yes. I like this new age.
wtf
isn’t that censorship and therefore not conforming with EU laws? I might be wrong here but I just can’t see this having a solid legal basis.
oh god you’re right - it will be the ultimate hung jury and it will be annoying af.
the good thing is, in the current climate I can’t see Trump getting reelected.
considering they have employees saying their CEO needs to go, they are randomly banning users who post things approved by mods and in line with tos, they are banning even the most slimey mods for no reason and the CEO is putting out infinite inflammatory statements in a row, I’m sure the atmosphere in which the admins work is somewhere between -3 and -53.
and all of those things are from news just this week. So of course we’ll never know how much the admins are fucking up, but considering all of these things it’s like gardening in a tornado. I honestly wouldn’t put it on them; can’t assume they’re all the same as the CEO.
and it is those mythical lizards with just above average intelligence that we need to fear.
unfortunately liftoff is not at all working for me currently.
I logged in and now my subscribed community posts are just empty, which is the whole point.
I do wanna see where they go tho.
don’t worry, they’re coming. a bunch of bigger third party app Devs have said they will make an app for Lemmy, and that will include iOS apps as well I’m sure. it’s just a matter of time.
unfortunately my dad who has a diploma in engineering and is working in that field for probably 30y now is still prone to it.
Whoever spread those conspiracies should die a slow and painful death to experience a fraction of what they brought on to a lot of families and friends.
…and this is why you don’t betray the mercenaries you hire.
Definitely should put that on the git issues with log files and stuff.
Any guidelines? AI allowed? Size requirements?
I’m probably not gonna make one but asking so other ppl have the info.
that is giving me deja vu
he already hinted to pulling out of EU Code of Practice
I’m very interested what his game plan is, because he kind fucked himself by firing too many law compliance employees, at least thats what I remember.
There’s no mechanism iirc.
I want it to happen to, I want them to have to report to an ethics committee yearly and if something smells fishy (and this time a little bit like salmon) they should have a trust vote by the American public.
I am itching so much for the perfect episode of John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight commemorating the most absurd but effective protest in histor, sounding off the whole mess of a situation and poking some more at spez. It’ll be a feast.
That is incredible. It’s hilarious, it’s satirical, it’s a sharp criticism and it absolutely hammers the stupidity of every Reddit statement home.
What a great team.
I have good feeling for the effects on environment tbh, because it changes a lot of ethical and environmental concerns. Some of them will definitely be gone for good.
I mean I know why ppl are scared it will kill off the fediverse, but the only thing that can kill off the fediverse is the Devs. As long as they don’t sell it or start involving a bigger company in the development, we are fine. And pull requests are transparent and therefore not a thread with enough common sense.
I see the risk but I don’t think it’s that imminent.
