give it content and legitimacy and server capacity
by concentrating said content and legitimacy within their walled garden servers. Then they perform the rug pull and shut the gates closed, they have all the content and we have nothing.
Thank you so much! Let’s make sure the XMPP situation never repeats ever again.
I’ve been buying Sony headphones because they sound great for the price but they ALWAYS fail at the same plastic left ear hinge within 1 year or usually less. No more.
Somewhere in countries that don’t respect American copyright like Iran
My respects to you. I really think websites and software in general need to have efficiency in mind again. Webapps should use as few resources as possible, save people’s time, their money and the planet.
Seems to work good enough!
It already did since 2 years ago, random “unverified content” bullshit login walls on popular/valuable advice, tens of megabytes of Javascript that took long to load on intermittent/unstable connections and terrible UI in general.
use power delete suite and do the edits again until you lose API access or they give up
Future is today, old man.
The advertisement model needs to die. No one wants to have their experience corrupted by panels trying to sell you something. We can find other ways to fund the network
Thanks. I’ll try to kickstart mine once I have some free time.
There is ALWAYS the possibility to enshittify anything. Meta is trying to infiltrate Mastodon already.
Use Reddit’s power delete suite. Be careful though, Reddit’s admins are really really mad at ur right now and they will roll back partially or totally your messages, so keep an eye on it and run the power delete suite multiple times, before June 30th
Once the first moderation bots arrive things will start sorting themselves out
Maybe indeed it’s a bit too early c:
Let’s hope for a future where the Internet is the vibrant and diverse place it used to be before the big tech walled gardens.
Heh, never been into Star Trek but I love how you guys have a Lemmy instance themed around it
That’s great. Love to see Kbin thriving but I wish more instances came online. I know that at least fedia.io exists
That’s the thing, I don’t want one instance with too much control over others. That is a gateway to reintroducing corporate corruption into the Fediverse
Wasn’t it hosted in Finland? Or have things changed?
