In jail: his body, their choice.
the problem is its easier to use because there is virtually no federation. Ive yet to see a user thats not from the flagship bsky.social instance
Stay with ubuntu unless you have an issue with ubuntu itself, because the grass isn’t greener on the other side despite what some people might say. The only real difference that you’ll find are different default settings/programs and the time it takes for a software update to reach your final linux install.
Some distros like Ubuntu prefer slightly older versions that have been proven to be stable/bug free while others like Arch mostly go for the newest everything where available, at the cost of stability. If you like something a little bit more balanced, you have Fedora (which is my preference).
The beauty of Linux is that most software will work no matter the distribution you use. If the reason you want to use Linux Mint instead of regular Ubuntu is the desktop environment, you can at any time install the Cinammon desktop (the one used by Mint), here’s an article that guides you through the process: https://itsfoss.com/install-cinnamon-on-ubuntu/
Because they are all worse than google in many areas, especially for local results
Oh of course, the apple chips are faster, and this is likely a combination of more efficiency thanks to the newer process node and apple being able to optimize the chips and power draw much better because they make everything. Apple can also afford to use larger chips because they make a profit on the entire computer, not just the processor itself.
Exactly, the apple chips excel at low power tasks and will consume basically nothing doing them. It’s also good for small bursty tasks, but for long lived intensive tasks it behaves basically the same as an equivalent x86 chip. People don’t seem to know that these chips can easily consume 80-90W of power when going full tilt.
Reposting the link from another comment on here, there is a PR to build the flatpak from source https://github.com/flathub/com.bitwarden.desktop/pull/222
Concerning.
Only keeping the regular cameras was a genius move to hold back their full autonomy plans
You should probably check their Reddit, I’ve seen many people complaining about the shipping, longevity and customer support. I don’t know how much of it is substantiated but still, some research can’t hurt
The entire point of AI as it stands right now is to allow more of those layoffs. Anyone telling otherwise is a liar.
Also I hate how currently, AI is used to remove the fun parts of creating things at a computer. Take coding for example, I think I can speak for many people when I say that the fun part of their job, is not the planning or the meetings, it’s the actual coding and stumbling upon a hard problem to solve. Now with AI you the human will only keep the boring parts of the job!
He obviously meant the people commenting online, not the maintainers
Does anyone know if the suspend fixes are also valid for 1000 series GPUs? Ive had trouble putting my computer to sleep for the past few months and it’s been really annoying. Also if someone know if this fixes Firefox stuttering like crazy since the 555 driver, and it’s worse when playing videos on YouTube. I’m on Wayland gnome
It definitely is amongst the cleanest energy sources we have today, especially when the choice for most is either oil, coal or nuclear, the choice is easy. Hydro, solar or wind are often not viable because of climate or location reasons. Not to mention that all of these need to be built using concrete, that is not unique to nuclear. Also important is that hydro electricity also dramatically alters the area, killing many animals and moving many species out of their home.
It is very clean. The image below shows what 20 years worth of spent nuclear fuel looks like at the former Maine Yankee plant. This is way smaller than most supermarkets in north america, let alone their parking lots!
To be fair that would not necessarily be because of the blockchain part, more because of the decentralized/federated nature of this theorical network
One of the rare use cases of a blockchain actually being useful. A federated internet archive that uses a blockchain to validate that the saved data has not been altered by a malicious actor trying to tamper with proofs
That would be really cool but horribly inefficient because of the sheer amount of storage required
The bigger reason is that most sites use Google AdSense for showing user ads. Most SEO bullshit sites are basically just empty content as a pretext to show said AdSense ads. Google will rank up these websites because they directly make them money via the revenue cut they take. Simple as that.
It’s a really nice message that gpt wrote there
Oh
