It’s a real shame; Irvine has lots of great food, and it’s another large east-Asian population center within the LA-OC metro area, but it’s also so staunchly Republican that I can’t stand to watch local news down there.

That’s nothing against the university, though. I have family who got their degrees there, and I even took summer classes on campus once. I dig the school and it was my fallback when I applied for colleges (back when it was possible to have a fallback).

This week has been a bit of UFO 50 and Terra Memoria.

UFO 50 hasn’t hooked me with a single specific game yet, but the entire package together is incredibly compelling and fun. It’s just neat to hop in, play half an hour of a game that makes me think back to playing on my dad’s NES, and then put it down for something else, much like how I played when I was 5 or 6.

I’m still very early on in Terra Memoria, but I think it’s pretty neat! I like the combat system as they’ve introduced it so far, and it looks like there will be a lot of depth and choices to make in combat or team-building (maybe). Something about turn-based RPGs feel perfectly suited for the Deck.

I believe Erdogan (and Turkey in general) were big players in getting the wheat trade deal settled, as well as the prisoner exchange, though I could be misremembering. It’s just a weird situation of Erdogan having a history of centralizing power, but also making moves to be more relevant on the global stage.

Why is this a news article? Why is this posted to this community? It’s a well written article, but it carries no new news, and is just an article by the author of a book that’s about to go on sale.

While I agree that he should be ridiculed for a statement like that, it’s obvious that the attendees at the RNC are supportive of that statement. To them, America doesn’t have deep-seated issues with race. Instead, America has the opposite! A system where minorities are favored and granted special treatment, while white people struggle to earn their fair share! (Please understand this is not my personal belief)

It makes sense to me. Biden and Trump have Secret Service detail already. RFK does not. Biden wants to make sure that it at least looks like all 3 candidates are being protected from more violence.

It is hard to stay afloat as a comic book store.

It depends on what I’m trying to maximize.

If I just want the happiness spike ASAP, then I would just buy $15 worth of Magic cards, or maybe a booster pack or three, depending on the set.

If I’m trying to maximize my overall happiness over any amount of time, I think spending $15 on something reusable, like a nice pair of socks or a hat would work out for me.

If I want to maximize happiness in general, then spending it on someone else I care about does double duty. It makes someone else happy, and I get happiness from being involved in the process.

Mine is mostly a machine for travel. It’s a godsend on flights, or for keeping up with an MMO like FFXIV when I’m gone for a week or longer. It’s also handy for group things when we have a TV (Jackbox for family, or Moonrakers: Luminor for my board game group).

This is real. I saw news about it maybe 1-2 months ago or so. Catan has largely rotated out of my group’s play pool, but I still remember it as the game that kinda got us into resource-based games 20 years ago.

I enjoyed this game for a weekend. It’s neat, and does some stuff (like destruction and movement) better than a lot of other shooters out there. I think the game modes are a little intimidating for me, as a casual player, though, so I gave up on it. Glad to see they’re working on everything and adding to the game over time!

One of my hens came up to me as I stepped outside, but instead of following me around, she leaped at something to my left. She shredded apart a 4-inch long mantis!

First, I’m glad they found the kid. No one deserves to be manipulated and taken like that.

Second, dude, wtf? He’s in his 30s and thinks that this is something he should do? The kid is literally half his age, and he seems to think that they’re in any position for a genuine romantic relationship? Gross.

I ordered the Limited Edition as soon as I could get past the store errors, and it’s out for delivery right now! Unfortunately I’m out and about, but look forward to playing it soon.

On PC, the download size is 100GB, install size is 122Gb, and the devs recommend 150GB, probably for saves and potentially mods one day.
