Places that never needed AC are needing AC now.
Places that new saw snow are going to need more heating, snowplows, and road salt. And stronger AC.
Things are going to suck. Increasingly.

While it does not sound bad, in comparison to the SNES, the Genesis will lose every time.
This is where you lost me.
Used to their fullest, both can sound great. Someone who knew how to make the Genesis sound amazing against someone who didn’t know how to use the SNES well would have the Genesis sounding better than the SNES.
And yeah, you might say that’s not a fair comparison, but I’m just saying that the SNES won’t win against the Genesis every time
Yeah, I’m not usually someone who’s anti-Reddit (in terms of the users, at least)…but the first sub I blocked was r/gaming, and the most negative users I ever interacted with were on r/AnimalCrossing and r/Nintendo.
Is this because they just aren’t equipped to handle the cold/snow?
Got this in my newsfeed and was worried before I found out that this is in the US, lol
Gotta tell Google to stop feeding me American news that sounds like it could be Canadian news
I hate the rules of the game just as much as you, but people who refuse to play the game (or refuse to learn its rules) are hurting everyone by helping Trump.
Not voting doesn’t tell anything to the Democrats. Not voting doesn’t say “You did bad in Palestine” because for years, not voting meant “I can’t be bothered to vote, and I don’t care who wins”.
If you have a specific message to your politicians, you have to contact them directly. Or protest. Or do something to actually get your message to them.
Someone left-wing deciding not to vote objectively helps Trump. That has nothing to do with attacking anyone, it’s an objective fact.
Any US citizen who was ok with Trump winning probably isn’t left wing.
Anyone left-wing US citizen who wasn’t ok with Trump winning but didn’t vote (assuming their vote mattered) is probably misguided at best.
And now that it refers to systemic injustices against any minority group, the word is really offensive to a bunch of losers! Lmao
I think you’re missing an “n’t” in there somewhere
I’d ask what it is, but I know the conversion doesn’t make sense unless it’s -40
How does it work after the API butchering?
Does anyone else
Yes
Let me guess – the same people don’t want kids to be able to be opted out of religious stuff in schools
“cracked games” are different from “pirated games”.
I’d be wary of cracked games. Pirated games that aren’t cracked, much less-so
Until the delivery guy gives something to your out-of-practice immune system! Haha
Yup. All I was getting at was that it’s not impossible. And I know that “impossible” isn’t what the other commenter said!
I’ve never met anyone in person who’s even heard of Lemmy. Well, at least whenever it’s brought up 😅
I’m sorry, what are you saying is not really true about the part you quoted?
What I was getting at was that they aren’t for sale through official means, implying that they’d be for sale on the secondhand market. And while physical media does degrade, there are plenty of people who prefer to use physical hardware to play retro games.
The games are generally available. They’re also available for sale, but on the secondhand market. If you don’t like the secondhand market, that’s perfectly valid. But they’re still generally “available”. Hence why I conceded that my prior comment was overly pedantic (using the definition of “getting overly caught up in minor details”).
I’m not anti-emulation, and I think some people got that perception from reading the first couple sentences of my original comment ans moving on. Which, again, is fair, and why I acknowledged that my comment wasn’t the best, lol
I was being overly pedantic, yeah.
What I was getting at is that there’s still a way to play retro games using original hardware. It’s not impossible, and using original hardware can be fun for its own merits.
But yeah, “not available anywhere else” can be implied to mean “for sale by the rights owners” and that’s fair.
But in reality, there’s no actual evidence of that, or that it was/is ever even possible.
