Not providing this anecdote as a rebuttal, just as food for thought since I’ve barely seen anyone mention this.

I have put a lot of thought into my sexuality/identity, but regardless of all of those thoughts my articulation will boil down to:

I want bio kids, until we can modify the genetic material of eggs/sperm so that two people of the same biological gender can have a biological child, my only option is someone with the opposite reproductive organs.

It doesn’t matter how much I am attracted to someone, I won’t roll loaded dice on having kids. If my partner and I discovered when we finally try to have kids that one or both of us is sterile, then so be it — but I’d like the dice we roll to not have a known outcome ahead of time.

Not looking for a partner anymore anyway, but the first one is my only reason. If we got to a point medically/scientifically where bio kids were possible then that sole reason would go away.

I’m fine ending up with no kids because I and/or my partner are infertile and we don’t know yet, but I’m not fine starting a relationship wanting something that the other person knows I can’t have with them and not telling me until later.

Honestly I think it would be helpful if the dating apps just had some hidden questions like “are you interested in having kids?” and if yes also asked “do you want biological kids?” and if you answer them your potential matches are automatically filtered down. I have two rationales for this, 1. because it frees up space in bio and keeps your preferences semi-private, and 2. it avoids potentially awkward conversations or other potentially awkward public judgemental. (I’m guessing there aren’t already questions like this.)

They’re not actually advocating for mob rule, mob rule is only acceptable if it’s the mob rule that accomplishes what they want.

Can the Portal really be called decent quality if it’s on a short tether and is beat for quality by nerds on the internet who made Chiaki?

To me it felt like the Portal was a limited-usage first-party cash grab, and as a Wii U owner that’s saying something (the extra screen was honestly not worth the space it took up, the money and materials would have been better spent elsewhere).

Most of my experiences with my first-party PlayStation related hardware and software has been mediocre at best, and that includes the operating system on something like the PS4.

Perhaps I am just jaded after my collective Sony experienced, but I think that Sony could have created an actually decent product, but instead they saw a nice handheld gaming device and wanted to try to muscle their way into the market without putting in the effort or money to make it even as good as the Wii U controller.

Because it’s showing how garbage the Portal is.

The Portal is first party hardware that:

1. Can only do one job as opposed to the Steamdeck
2. Does its singular job worse than the Steamdeck does the exact same job

I wish I could stop hearing them knock on my door. They don’t just knock once.

Even when I’m not active on Lemmy, I am not on Reddit.

If I ever need information from Reddit (unfortunately there is still a lot of information only on Reddit…), Wayback machine I go.

Even if me requesting that Wayback machine archive a page, once it’s saved we don’t need to give reddit anymore clicks, Wayback machine gets the clicks instead. It’s better than losing information outright.

I dropped my sub. Was paying roughly $7.50/mo for 2 years for the legacy bundle and they nearly tripled it to $18.99/mo.

Of all my streaming services, I literally do not watch ESPN, and barely use Hulu and Disney. I could justify $7.50 by stretching the definition of justification, but $18.99 is more than I pay for streaming services I use regularly.

Honestly the popular support from the people who can’t point to Israel on a map is religious.

The governmental support definitely is not based on religion. The US makes semiconductor tech there and Israel is one giant front-line fortress for us. Israel is the Middle Eastern outpost analog to all of the East Asian allies who are littered with US military bases.

I’m definitely in support of “mega-threading” anything related to the Reddit blackout unless it’s big breaking news (but mega-thread those events too).

I’ve also started to look for communities for some of my interests, but I suspect it’s going to take a while before a lot of them spread to here. There are also a bunch that I can’t really start since I am primarily a consumer and not a producer (specialized topics like astrophysics that I am not a subject matter expert for).
