  • It’s interesting that no one in the media talks about how Fetterman was one of the most progressive politicians, then he had a stroke and started taking the maga side on a lot of things.

It tracks with a lot of other anecdotal evidence (e.g. Tila Tequila becoming a nazi after an aneurysm, some lady in a recent Channel 5 video said she became pro-Trump following a head injury in a car accident, a couple of people in my personal life, RFK Jr. obviously). I’m not saying all magas are brain damaged - there’s many different reasons I’m sure. But someone’s gotta at least start asking the question. There is at least this study which ties brain damage to religious fundamentalism, which isn’t exactly politics but it’s pretty darn close.

  • All the people praising Luigi say “this does nothing” when someone suggests an alternative to just shooting CEOs. Well you know what did nothing? Shooting Brian Thompson did nothing. United Health Group just hired a new CEO to run his division, and the real oligarchs continued looting the country even harder than before.

So no, they don’t feel threatened. The top oligarchs like Elon barely even registered it. If you wanna know what they’re afraid of, look at where they spend money - buying politicians and opposing attempts to regulate them and break up their monopolies. Lucky for them there is no well funded lobby for consumers, people denied health care, or even the poor and middle class generally. Tell the next Luigi to work on that if you really wanna scare these people.

  • Teddy Roosevelt never said “The only good indian is a dead indian.” That quote is typically associated with Philip Sheridan.

A number of sources claim a similar quote (“I don’t go so far as to think that the only good Indians are the dead Indians, but I believe nine out of every 10 are…") alleged to be from an 1886 speech in New York, but this still goes against how he treated native americans generally and I can’t find the original speech so I’m a bit suspicious of this as well.
