I’ll go with the actual unpopular opinion.
I would love to use an AI to set up what sort of woman I’m interested in, topics it can discuss and whatnot. Then let it swipe for me, start and maintain some short conversations in my writing style. It could notify when it’s time to ask the person out on a date and from there on I could take over the conversation.
It’s dystopian for sure, but getting a date is basically just a numbers game. Would love getting to skip actually doing that part…
Yeah. Even the largest leagues and teams are basically impossible to follow on anything but Reddit and Twitter. For smaller teams? Nothing else exists…
100% the other way around for me. My phone is the one thing I own, I use the most. To have a more fluid experience is worth a couple of hundred dollars. The hourly price difference is minuscule.
“Save the planet” is too broad. Electric cars can help with global warming. But may be worse in other areas.
Thing is, global warming is by far and away the largest environmental threat today. So it’s likely very much beneficial to lessen the burden there, while other areas suffer.
But you’re very much right in that it won’t do shit as long as we’re producing electricity through fossil fuel among others. With that said, the same people pushing for electric cars are also pushing for green energy.

It is however people that in very high degree support their president.
Yeah definitely. Feel like even Lemm.ee could be at risk, the admin have written once in three weeks. Might be nothing, but does not feel all too safe.
People keep saying this about Plex, yet I’ve received one pop up about paying them during the last 6 months. That was while I tried to use a pay feature. Not once otherwise.
There are plenty of apps that I can’t use due to their annoyance when you’re in the free tier. Plex have not bothered me in the least.
Why am I not using streamio? Well, we have an Apple TV so that’s tough. Might get something else down the line, but I pirate to save money, not to save money on entertainment and spend it on equipment instead.
Time helps us get through pain, even though it often leaves a mark. For me, changing how I think about things has really made a difference.
It’s great to feel good, but I don’t think that needs to be the main goal of life. I try to see life as a gift where feeling all kinds of emotions is a valuable part. I hope everyone gets to feel the incredible joy of being in love and the comfort of a happy relationship, but also knows what it’s like to go through a heartbreak… Because going through different feelings, good or bad, adds so much to our lives.
Heartbreak gives us strength and empathy, happiness gives us beautiful memories, and love? Love is that quiet, steady thing that makes all the tough parts worth it. So I try to welcome every feeling, every moment, and every experience, because together, they make up our unique, stories.
The protection cited in the article is for buildings. Alright? No one is becoming a militarized surveillance state over buildings being protected by the military.
This is a prime minister wanting to look strong in tough times, not a country becoming a surveillance state.
100% this. Paying $12 a month for basically all music I’ll ever want to listen to, is just an amazing deal. It’s so convenient. Felt the same when Netflix came about. But now when I need like 6 services, and there’s still lots not on them. Piracy is just so much more convenient.
Not that it’s much of a benefit today as RTS games are barely nonexistent. But StarCraft 2 taught me all about macro management. Spending them resources and building an economy.
Yeah the UI is not the greatest.
Libgen.fun, search for a book, press it, click one of the download buttons. Usually numbered like 1,2,3,4,5. I tend to pick the first one. Then you get a large download text, press it, then save file.
It doesn’t get much easier than using library genesis on your iOS device. You’ll have a book within seconds.
Growing is not linear, particular not when competing with a larger alternative.
What basically needs to happen is that Reddit needs to fuck up a couple of more times. Some smaller stuff will net some users, largest stuff, many. After a while critical mass has been reached and it’ll be easier to grown naturally.
Well, that’s at least what I think needs to happen. I’m fully confident Reddit will fuck up as well. Though, this is a marathon, not a sprint.
There is no conspiracy. Try teaching paying taxes to someone who won’t have to do it for a couple of years. There’s zero interest.
Instead you’re taught everything you - realistically - should need to know in order to learn by yourself, how to pay taxes.
Throw in some frozen veggie (hell you can find fresh ones decently priced if you buy veggies that are in season) and you’re set.
People way overestimate the costs of a healthy meal plan. Truth of the matter is that it requires time, and it won’t taste as good - if you aren’t decent in the kitchen. That’s most people’s problem.
It’s a nice little thing, but there so much to miss compared to Reddit. Sure, we have memes, technology and news. But there is very little other discussion going on, even for big things like food, sports, finance and relationships (picked some on the top of my mind). Huge communities on Reddit. Barely anything here.
Overall Lemmy is very much a disappointment when it comes to “niche” communities, if you can even call those large subjects that. But it’s even worse for smaller subjects.
Impossible beef is plant based. Lab grown meat is made from animal cells.
Haha yeah for sure. Though that’s already done today with very old pictures and the likes.
I guess the user (me) would be the one paying!
I’m not at all underestimating that, it’s the very reason I would like a bot to do it. For an average guy there’s about a 2% of getting a match. After that you need to get a response, which is far from an easy feat. Honestly, I’d be pleased with an AI that swiped for me and got the first reply to be honest.
It’s just tedious work for - often - very little benefit!
