During the pandemic my car sat in the garage until the battery died. After 7 hours of charging it, turned on the car and found the hybrid battery was almost full.

Can’t speak to cheap boxes, so usb might be the way, but I use a Zimaboard. Two built in SATA ports, and a pci-e daughter card gives me two more ports. Full disclosure, i don’t do anything more than 1080p, bad eyesight…

I’m a (mostly) teetotaler because of my family history. I can’t think of a single family funeral that I’ve been to that didn’t either end up at the deceased’ favorite bar, or with a trip to the liquor store.
