I think the battery swap is more like this.

No need to worry about pervious owners or anything. The system charges and maintains the bank of batteries you swap with.

If I don’t own the product after purchase, the button shouldn’t say “buy/purchase” it should say “rent”.
I do like the idea of industry standard license.
My thoughts are:
“I’ll show you a gateway to heaven!” punch
Could you imagine traveling without time zones? It would be actual hell.
Normally you wake up at 1300, but then you travel to japan, you don’t know when they wake up. So maybe you ask the hotel staff or maybe people will start putting signs up “Japan wakes up at 0300”. I mean it’s cool you don’t need to change your watch or wait for your phone time to update when the plane lands, but how do you know when lunch is? When do you go to sleep? If a meeting you’re having is at 1000, is that way late in the day meeting? Or is that a super early meeting and maybe you should get to bed early the night before. You would have no clue unless you do it on the regular.
Now, you could just download an app that tells you what time it is where you’re at currently relative to what you normally use (so in Japan while they think it’s 0300, your phone says 1300) so this would make these way easier for you since all the times are just normal. Every time you move around you just tell the app where you’re at and it adjusts the time is displays annnndddd…oh wait I just re-invited time zones.
FAA and Boeing are basically the same entity at this point.
I don’t know of any fiber that the core is 125 microns. Can you link to one? Neither Single Mode nor Multi Mode fiber is that large.
Sure, but the glass core is only 8–9 µm wide, it’s a minuscule amount of glass compared to copper cables so it’s not really worth it to melt it down.

Bro… It’s password mangers all the way down…
No, there are no fees at all. Authentic just means approved device state, which will be defined by the website you go to I believe. So youtube might required many different things in order to be “authentic” like no ad blockers, genuine browser, non-rooted phone, etc., whereas bank-xyz may just check for one thing, like a genuine browser. Also, websites have to enable this on their side, so its not going to be used by default on all websites. The whole thing is crap though, even if only a few websites enable this, it could have huge impacts.
Really? According to this site they claim that “The Cyber Resilience Act should only apply to free open-source software that is developed or supplied in the course of commercial activity.” While that could be a broad scope, I don’t think it applies to most FOSS. Linux is really the big thing I see it applying to and Linux is very Cyber secure, so I don’t really see issues there.
Are there other parts of the law that ban FOSS? Or is that site too pro EU and glosses over the bad parts?
Yeah every EV has a replaceable battery, lol. The actual issue is the amount of shops that do battery replacement is little to none. On top of that, EV battery recycling isn’t at the scale it will need to be in 10-15 years. Those issues will solve themself after a while though.
Here’s a simple one.
Double check that newly installed clothes washer actually has the drain line properly connected. If you don’t know how to check it, have someone else do it for you.
:)
My favorite thing about mail in voting is Utah. Utah for years had a very successful mail in voting operation. Everyone loved it. A few critics here and there, but generally well respected. Then Trump lost and now mail in voting is a very bad thing, don’t you know! (even thought Trump won by an overwhelming majority in Utah via mail in voting)
I think you’re still misunderstanding how this would work. So this battery swap setup is like the equivalent of going to the gas station. Basically, when your battery is close to being dead, you head to this place and get a fully charged battery. So it doesn’t matter that the battery is used, you just keeping swapping batteries out when you need it. Sure it would be annoying to know that when you bought the car, it came with a fresh battery that would get swapped out with an older battery, but you would have bought the car to get into the swapping system since this is mainly for folks that can’t do charging at home.
