What does “caress the Fairy” mean?!
What does “caress the Fairy” mean?!
This show is very similar to Sauron as Annatar: offering beautiful gifts but actually bringing enslavement and torture.
If you can, I would like to recommend that you do.
Finally! This is an small, random fix, but it’s actually useful for me.
Damn, this is an epic project. Props to the Polygon people who coordinated all this!

Wow, I didn’t realize he was still with us. But the man was/is a baseball legend. A true inspiration! RIP.
That’s absolutely what’s going on.
A fun way to combat this would be to get every artist to add giant, throbbing dicks to everything they create in Photoshop with the hope that it creates the thirstiest, nastiest AI model out there.
It looks like there’s nothing I can say to make you see, but even accounting for inflation, the cost of living has been outpacing wages for decades! That’s why the average US worker in the 1950s could support a home with their wages alone, but today, two people working full-time jobs still can’t afford a home.
That’s because the cost of living has been outpacing wages.
That chart lacks context. The cost of living has drastically increased with each generation as well, far outpacing the increase in wages.
So what is a good alternative? “Scaled?”
I know this is the ultimate cliche answer, but it’s gotta be Sephiroth for me. The original FVII just caught me at that perfect time.
Spoilers ahead…
When you play through FFVII (the original, that is–I haven’t played the remakes yet), you only just hear about Sephiroth at first. Then you see some of the carnage that he’s caused: the President of Shinra dead at his desk and the super difficult snake boss piked on a giant stake.
In one of the flashbacks, he’s doing freaking research. That sounds boring and bland, but it was a level of depth to a villain that most people (or at least I) had never seen before. In another flashback, Cloud as a new recruit is with Sephiroth, and the difference in power is incredible. Sephiroth makes child’s play of this enormous dragon.
The final battle(s) is fantastic, and his theme song–hinted at throughout the game by Uematsu’s classic score–is iconic. Phallic imagery aside, the Masamune blade is simple but super cool. And he freaking kills Aerith?! Can he do that?! A friend of mine stopped playing the game for weeks after he got to that part.
A lot of these things are super common in games now, and I know there are several games before FFVII that had characters with this amount of depth (FFVI comes to mind), but Sephiroth is just the coolest, man!!

I don’t hate everything, but I am sick and tired of shitty adaptations of books/games/whatever that I love. I have been burned so many times by seeing something and being cautiously optimistic because of good trailers… and then the final product has none of the magic or characteristics of what I loved about the originals. Watching a favorite IP get gutted by crappy writers over and over again is really frustrating. I’ve been burned so many times, it’s hard not to be cynical, angry, and jaded.
I’ve heard HBO’s “The Last of Us” is awesome, and it’s definitely on my watch list. I never watched the “One Piece” anime or read the manga, but I heard that was surprisingly good, too. I know there are some jewels out there, but they seem to be the exception.
That’s always where these show are just absolute shit. It’s so easy (relatively speaking) to nail the visuals. But writing an interesting, compelling, relatable, semi-relstable story? Fuck no! Write a stupid story with moronic characters and throw in a bunch of references to the video games for the nerds!
The Witcher. Wheel Of Time. The Rings Of Power. Cowboy Bebop. Avatar: The Last Airbender. Death Note. Fucking HALO.
All. Shit.

I’m shocked.
Not if it’s at your house, you don’t!
Gaming ads in the 90s didn’t give a fuck.
“Our game will literally kill you. Try it, pussy.”
