Hope this is ok to spread the word.
You don’t need premium either. Just did mine. Or pay the premium $15 one time fee as a thank you to the developer. Super fast, done in minutes. Although I’m wondering if it only deleted the post for the subs still online…. But worth it.
Yeah, seems only the comments not hidden by the blackout were edited/deleted. I used a bookmarklet though, maybe shreddit does it better.
I prefer PowerDeleteSuite, as you don’t have to log in with your credentials (which you do have to do with Shreddit)
That’s the name. I used this, reasons see above. Thanks :-)
11 years worth and over 100k karma deleted. Out with the old, and in with the new.

Small update on my comment from yesterday… I checked and 161 comments were back from the 1536 deleted ones. Running shreddit again cleared them out pretty quick though. I’d advise anyone using Shreddit to check after a few days to make sure nothing got restored.
Thanks for sharing this, just used it so all in on lemmy now!
I’m just waiting for my data export request to come through, then gonna hit the shred button.
i used the power delete suite
was pretty easy. it did not delete any up or down votes though
I don’t really care about my up and downvotes. But I did remove all my value from the platform. A lot of my posts in the subreddit of my field of work were top results in Google, if you searched for certain errors etc. That value is now gone.
Redact is also free.
I used Redact to delete everything up to when the API changes were announced. https://redact.dev/
I am waiting until closer to the deadline. If they don’t change their mind before the deadline is reached, I plan on doing the same. Lots of comments. Lots of posts. Lots of karma… Shall all be gone.
I am waiting until the deadline to actually say goodbye and delete my account. I’m not holding my breath anymore, however, since spez just did an interview with The Verge and again doubled down on everything.
